Abstract

Sistem Informasi Akademik Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (SIAKAD ITS) memiliki tiga buah basis data yang diletakkan di tiga server yang berbeda akibat keterbatasan server fisik. Banyaknya jumlah server mengakibatkan proses backup dan pemeliharaan yang rumit. Permasalahan lainnya adalah struktur basis data yang tidak teratur akibat pengembangan sistem yang semakin luas. Untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut, dilakukan proses migrasi basis data dari tiga server basis data SIAKAD ITS menjadi satu server basis data. Proses migrasi basis data ini diikuti pula dengan pengukuran kualitas basis data baru untuk menjamin kualitas data yang diolah sama atau lebih baik dibandingkan dengan basis data lama. Pada basis data baru juga perlu dilakukan proses integrasi dengan aplikasi SIAKAD ITS supaya aplikasi dapat berjalan dengan baik menggunakan basis data baru. Proses migrasi basis data dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap. Tahap awal adalah melakukan perencanaan proses migrasi yang akan dilakukan, kemudian melakukan analisis mengenai kondisi tiga basis data SIAKAD ITS termasuk kualitas datanya. Dari hasil analisis, dibuat perancangan untuk basis data baru. Langkah berikutnya adalah melakukan pemetaan data antara basis data lama dan basis data baru. Setelah dipetakan, data mulai dipindahkan melalui proses ETL. Basis data yang sudah memiliki data dari basis data lama diukur kualitasnya berdasarkan lima dimensi, yaitu akurasi, kelengkapan, integritas turunan, validitas, dan nonduplikat. Setelah diukur kualitasnya, dilakukan proses integrasi dengan aplikasi SIAKAD ITS. Pengukuran kualitas basis data baru menghasilkan nilai persentase 82% untuk dimensi akurasi, nilai persentase 90% untuk kelengkapan, nilai persentase 81% untuk dimensi integritas turunan, nilai persentase 100% untuk dimensi validitas dan nilai persentase 100% untuk nonduplikat. Hasil pengukuran kualitas basis data baru menunjukkan terdapat tiga dimensi yang berhasil mencapai target nilai usulan, yitu dimensi akurasi, validitas, dan non duplikat, sedangkan untuk nilai kualitas pada dimensi kelengkapan dan integrasi turunan tidak mencapai nilai usulan. Proses integrasi data juga berjalan dengan baik dengan dibuktikan melalui pengujian fungsional sistem yang sudah dibangun sebelumnya.

Academic Information System Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (SIAKAD ITS )has three databases located in three different servers because of physical server limitation. . A large number of servers is causes complicated backup process and maintenance. This system developing also causes another problem such as unstructured database. To resolve these problems, the data migration process from three databases servers to one database server were applied. After the data migration process is complete, the quality of new database is measured to ensure the quality of data processed is better than the old database. The new database also needs to be done modified with the integration process SIAKAD ITS application so the application can run properly using new database. Database migration process is made in several stages. The initial phase is to plan migration process, then analyze condition of the three SIAKAD ITS databases including data quality. It continues with analyzing the result and creating the design for new database. The next step is to map data between old database and new database. Once data has been mapped, it is moved through ETL process. The database that which already has data fom old new database quality is measured by five dimensions, namely accuracy, completeness, derivation integrity, validity, and non duplicate. After measuring the quality, the integration process with SIAKAD ITS application is applied. New database quality measurement result percentage 82% for accuracy dimension, 90% for completeness, 81% for derivation integrity, 100% for accuracy, and 100% for non duplicate. The result of this new database’s quality measurements shows that there are three dimensions that reach target value. That dimensions is accuracy, validity, and non-duplicate. Whereas completeness and derivation integrity cannot reach target value. Data integration process also goes well proven by functional testing thas has been built previously
