Abstract

Angka putus sekolah di Jawa Timur tahun ajaran 2011/2012 mencapai 13.080 siswa di tingkat wajib belajar 9 tahun. Tingginya angka putus sekolah menjadi masalah bagi pemerintah, sehingga perlu adanya penyelesaian. Oleh karena itu dilakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan analisis klaster non hierarki untuk pemetaan angka putus sekolah tingkat SLTP sederajat Kabupaten dan Kota di Jawa Timur dan analisis regresi logistik ordinal untuk memodelkan angka putus sekolah. Hasil analisis klaster menunjukkan kelompok 1 mempunyai karakteristik rata-rata angka putus sekolah sebesar 0,17 persen, kelompok 2 rata-rata angka putus sekolah sebesar 0,39 persen, sedangkan kelompok 3 mempunyai karakteristik angka putus sekolah sebesar 0,62 persen. Variabel yang mempengaruhi angka putus sekolah tingkat SLTP dan sederajat di Provinsi Jawa Timur adalah PDRB per kapita, indeks pembangunan manusia, persentase tingkat kesempatan kerja, rasio guru dibanding murid, dan rasio sekolah dibanding murid.

The dropout rate in East Java at 2011/2012 reached 13,080 students in study obligatory degree 9 year. The high of the dropout rate become a problem of the government, so it need a solving. So that way, research done with using cluster analysis non-hierarchi for mapping the number of dropout rate in the junior high school regency and town in East Java, and ordinal logistic regression analysis for the model in number of dropout rate. As the results of cluster analysis show that group 1 have the rate of characteristics average dropout rate 0,17 percent, group 2 have the average dropout rate is 0,39 percent, while group 3 have the characteristics average dropout rate is 0,62 percent. Variables which influence number of dropout rate in junior high school and the degree of it in the East Java is product domestics regional bruto per capital, human development indeks, employment rate, the ratio of teachers than students, and the ratio of school than students.
