Abstract

Fe2O3 and Mg1-xFexF2 (x= 0; 0,025; 0,05; 0,075; 0,10 and 0,15 mol) catalysts were synthesized by a sol-gel technique. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction and FT-IR pyridine. The catalytic behavior of the samples were tested by Refine Palm Oil (RPO) with methanol transesterification reaction. The result of XRD pattern showed that the structure of Mg1-xFexF2 successful because metal Fe into the structure of MgF2. All the systems showed Lewis and Brǿnsted acid band in the FT-IR of pyridine complexes. The best results of catalytic testing were obtained by Mg0,9Fe0,1F2 catalyst with conversion 71,78%.
