Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter geokimia organik batubara Pit Kancil, Sangatta, Kalimantan Timur meliputi masukan bahan organik, senyawa asal pembentuk (prekursor), tingkat kematangan, dan lingkungan pengendapan batubara berdasarkan kajian kandungan biomarkanya. Batubara diekstrak dengan metode sokletasi menggunakan pelarut kloroform. Ekstrak yang diperoleh kemudian difraksinasi dengan metode kromatografi kolom menggunakan eluen n-heksana untuk fraksi alifatik, diklorometana untuk fraksi aromatik, dan metanol untuk fraksi polar. Fraksi alifatik dan aromatik dianalisa dengan KG-SM, sedangkan fraksi polar didegradasi lebih lanjut menggunakan HI/LAH untuk selanjutnya dianalisa dengan KG-SM. Analisa biomarka hidrokarbon batubara Pit Kancil, Sangatta, Kalimantan Timur diperoleh senyawa biomarka diantaranya: kelompok asiklik alkana berupa n‐alkana C 15 – C 35, isoprenoida C 16 , C 19 (pristan) dan C 20 (fitan); kelompok senyawa seskuiterpenoida berupa ionena, tetrametil tetralina, metil ionena, pentametil indana, kadinana, salinana, tetrahidrokadalena, kalamenena, norkadalena, dan kadalena; kelompok senyawa alkilsilena berupa heptilsilena kelompok senyawa sesterterpenoida berupa de-A-triterpenoida kelompok senyawa steroida berupa 24-etildiakolest-13(17)-ena; kelompok senyawa triterpenoida olean-13(18)ena, olean-12(13)ena, olean-18-ena, dan urs-12-ena; 17β(H),21α(H)-norhopana, 17β(H),21α(H)-hopana, dan 17β(H),21α(H)- homohopana; kelompok senyawa triterpenoida pentasiklik mono-, di-, tri-, dan tetra aromatik dari prekursor α- dan β-amirina; kelompok senyawa triterpenoida pentasiklik keton yaitu β-amirenon, α-amirenon, dan fridelina; kelompok senyawa alkil naftalena; dan kelompok senyawa alkil fenantrena dan antrasena. Analisa biomarka batubara Pit Kancil, Sangatta, Kalimantan Timur memberikan informasi bahwa batubara merupakan jenis batubara yang masih muda berumur Miosen dengan masukan organik batubara berasal dari tumbuhan tingkat tinggi Angiospermae famili Dipterocarpaceae, yang melibatkan aktifitas mikroba pada proses akumulasinya pada lingkungan pengendapan yang bersifat oksik.

This research aims to know the characters of organic geochemistry of Pit Kancil coal, Sangatta, East Kalimantan, including the level of maturity, the input of organic matter, the original framer compounds (precursors), and coal depositional environment based on the study of the biomarker contents. Coal was extracted by soxhlet extraction method using chloroform. The extract then separated by column chromatography method using n-hexane as aliphatic fraction eluent, dichloromethane as aromatic fraction, and methanol as polar fraction eluent. Aliphatic and aromatic fractions analysed directly using GC-MS, whereas the polar fraction further degraded using HI/LAH were analyzed using GC-MS. Analysis of biomarker hydrocarbons character of Kancil peat coal, Sangatta, East Kalimantan here obtained biomarker compounds, those were: acyclic alkanes group consist of n-alkanes C 15 - C 35 ; isoprenoids C 16 , C 19 (pristane) and C 20 (phitane); sesquiterpenoids groups which consist of ionene, tetramethyltetraline, methyl ionene, pentamethyilindane, cadinane, selinane, tetrahydrocadalene, calamenene, norcadalene, and cadalene; hepthylxylene of alkylxylenes group; de-A-triterpenoids of sesterterpenoids group; 24- ethyldiacholest-13(17)-ene of steroids group; triterpenoids group which consist of olean- 13(18)-ene, olean-12(13)-ene, olean-18-ene and urs-12-ene, 17β(H)21α(H)-norhopane, 17β(H)21α(H)-hopane, and 17β(H)21α(H)- homohopane; mono-, di-, tri- and tetraaromatic pentacyclic of α- and β-amirine- derived triterpenoids; keton pentacyclic triterpenoids which consist of , β- amyrenone, α-amyrenone, friedeline; alkyl naphthalene group; and alkyl phenanthrene and anthracene groups. This biomarker analysis of Kancil peat coal, Sangatta, East Kalimantan gave information that the coal was young Miosen coal, with coal organic inputs derived from terrestrial plant Angyospermae, Dipterocarpaceae familly, which involved the microbial activity in the process of accumulation of coal in oxic depositional environment.
