Abstract

Entrepreneurship is one of the factors that has an important role in adding product value, creating jobs, increasing productivity, revitalizing and diversifying markets, improving social welfare, and economic development through the process of creativity and innovation. However, the composition of entrepreneurs in Indonesia is still dominated by Gen X, while the role of Gen Z is still very low. The Indonesian government has supported the existence of development facilities in the field of entrepreneurship through Wirausaha Merdeka Program. This research model is built on the Theory of Planned Behavior combined with educational support and gender stereotype as antecedent variables. The sample of this study was 200 collected using surveys. Data processing is carried out using the structural equation modeling method. The results of this study show that educational support affects entrepreneurship intention mediated by attitude towards entrepreneurship, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norms. However, the study found negative relationship between gender stereotype and entrepreneurship intention. This study also found a relationship between entrepreneurship intention and entrepreneurship behavior. This research confirms previous studies on entrepreneurship focusing on the concept of entrepreneurship intention which is an important step in improving student entrepreneurship behavior. This research contributes to the novelty of the research model and becomes the foundation for the development of the next Wirausaha Merdeka Program.
