Abstract

Environmental pollution is a current trend issue. Pollution in water areas can be caused by two types of pollutants, namely substances that cause eutrophication and toxic materials that cause damage to aquatic organisms. The Ciliwung River is used for various activities such as raw water sources for drinking, industry, fisheries, flushing, and agriculture. However, changes in land use, as well as the increase in residential areas around water bodies also have an impact on the entry of pollutants into water bodies. The purpose of this literature study is to examine the water quality in the Ciliwung River in the Depok city segment, examine remediation alternatives that are able to remediate the Ciliwung River in the Depok city segment, and examine the bioremediation process of the Ciliwung River in the Depok city segment in situ. The study method used was started by searching for literature sources related to river water pollution and river water remediation. Then proceed with finding the data needed for analysis and discussion of case studies. The data needed is the water quality of the Ciliwung River, bioremediation in the river, prediction of indigenous microorganism bacteria and prediction of the calculation of indigenous microorganisms. The results of the literature review show that there is pollution in the water of the Ciliwung River in the Depok city segment. The pollutants are manganese (0.770 mg/L), zinc (1.72 mg/L), and copper (0.62 mg/L). This concentration has exceeded the quality standard in Indonesia. One of the efforts to reduce the pollutant load is to use the principle of bioaugmentation. The addition of bacteria was carried out using indigenous microorganisms in the form of Bacillus cereus and Pseudomonas putida. Each bacterium has different resistance to the heavy metals tested
