Abstract

=================================================================================================================================
PT XYZ is a packaging ink supplier with a business-to-business model with sources of income from three main customers. The challenge faced by the company is the low level of on time delivery because it received 17.62% of orders with a shorter lead time than that offered by PT XYZ. One effort that the company can do is to increase production capacity. To complete customer orders, companies use job-shop production flows that involve order queues. A discrete event simulation approach is used to determine the amount of production resources to increase on-time delivery performance according to the company target of 95%, under standard order conditions. The best scenario is the addition of 2 lab workers and 3 small mixers accompanied by a reduction of 1 production worker. The recommended scenario can save the company's average monthly revenue of IDR 2,022,938,750 due to an increase in the percentage of on-time delivery from 54.60% to 95.61%. In peak order conditions, recommended improvements can save the company's revenue of IDR 3,718,196,250 on that specific month due to an increase in the percentage of on-time delivery from 33.82% to 90.90%. The recommended scenario requires fixed costs of IDR 1,052,000,000 and results in an average increase in total variable costs of IDR 7,701,507 under standard conditions and IDR 6,670,275 during peak orders. This recommendation produces an NPV value that is greater than the initial condition, making it feasible to implement.
