Abstract

Saat ini, produksi tahu masih berkembang pada industri skala rumahan. Akibatnya, produsen industri tahu di Kabupaten Purworejo tidak memiliki Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) sehingga air limbah tersebut langsung dialirkan melalui pipa dan berakhir di badan air. Padahal, limbah cair tahu menghasilkan kadar polutan, seperti COD dan ammonia yang melebihi baku mutu. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan alternatif untuk menangani permasalahan pencemaran limbah cair tahu dengan fitotreatment subsurface flow constructed wetland menggunakan tumbuhan Limnocharis flava L. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan konsentrasi limbah cair industri tahu; menentukan penurunan kadar COD dan amoniak (NH3) pada limbah cair industri tahu yang diolah menggunakan tumbuhan Limnocharis flava L. dengan arah aliran vertical dan horizontal subsurface flow; menentukan penurunan kadar COD dan amoniak (NH3) dengan penambahan pupuk; menentukan perubahan morfologi Limnocharis flava L selama proses fitotreatment. Metode penelitian meliputi penggalian informasi, merumuskan ide penelitian, rumusan masalah, tujuan penelitian, dan tinjauan pustaka. Kemudian, melakukan penelitian pendahuluan dengan mengambil sampel air limbah cair industri tahu rumahan di Kabupaten Purworejo untuk diuji karakteristik awal air limbah meliputi parameter utama BOD, COD, TSS dan amoniak dengan parameter pendukung pH, temperatur, dan tinggi tumbuhan. Penelitian dilanjutkan dengan propagasi, aklimatisasi, dan Range finding test (RFT). Selanjutnya dilakukan penelitian utama untuk menguji konsentrasi COD dan amoniak (NH3) pada limbah cair industri tahu rumahan dengan variasi subsurface flow constructed wetland aliran vertikal dan horizontal serta diberikan/ tidak diberikan pupuk NPK. Kemudian, dilakukan analisis hasil dan pembahasan dilanjutkan uji signifikansi dengan uji T berpasangan. Setelah itu, diambil kesimpulan dan saran penelitian. Hasil uji karakteristik awal parameter COD, BOD, TSS, amoniak, pH dan suhu berturut turut adalah 944 mg/L; 344 mg/L; 1400 mg/L; 1 mg/L; 2,9; 39oC. Konsentrasi limbah cair tahu yang diterima oleh tumbuhan genjer pada tahap Range Finding Test (RFT) adalah 20% untuk variasi vertikal dan horizontal subsurface flow. Konsentrasi dan efisiensi removal COD dan NH3 variasi vertikal SSF; dengan dan tanpa pupuk NPK adalah 152 mg/L dan 136 mg/L; 80,6% dan 83,4%; 13 mg/L dan 15 mg/L; 0% dan 0%. Konsentrasi dan efisiensi removal COD dan NH3 variasi horizontal SSF; dengan dan tanpa pupuk NPK adalah 280 mg/L dan 136 mg/L; 58,5% dan 84,7%; 11,46 mg/L dan 13,15 mg/L; 0% dan 0%. Nilai pH, suhu, tinggi tumbuhan variasi horizontal SSF; dengan dan tanpa pupuk NPK adalah 6,5 dan 6,8; 28,4oC dan 28,4oC; 32 cm dan 25 cm. Currently, tofu production is still developing on a home scale industry. As a result, industrial tofu producers in Purworejo Regency do not have a Waste Water Treatment Plant (IPAL) so the waste water flows directly through pipes and ends up in water bodies. In fact, tofu liquid waste produces pollutant levels, such as COD and ammonia, which exceed quality standards. Therefore, an alternative is needed to deal with the problem of tofu liquid waste pollution with subsurface flow constructed wetland phytotreatment using the Limnocharis flava L plant. The aim of this research is to determine the concentration of tofu industry liquid waste; determine the reduction in COD and ammonia (NH3) levels in liquid waste from the tofu industry which is processed using the Limnocharis flava L. plant with vertical and horizontal subsurface flow directions; determine the reduction in COD and ammonia (NH3) levels with the addition of fertilizer; determine changes in the morphology of Limnocharis flava L during the phytotreatment process. Research methods include extracting information, formulating research ideas, problem formulation, research objectives, and literature review. Then, carry out preliminary research by taking samples of liquid wastewater from the home tofu industry in Purworejo Regency to test the initial characteristics of the wastewater including the main parameters BOD, COD, TSS and ammonia with the supporting parameters pH, temperature and plant height. The research continued with propagation, acclimatization, and Range finding test (RFT). Next, main research was carried out to test the concentration of COD and ammonia (NH3) in liquid waste from the home tofu industry using variations in subsurface flow constructed wetland vertical and horizontal flow and NPK fertilizer was/was not given. Then, analysis of the results was carried out and discussion continued with the significance test using the paired T test. After that, conclusions and research suggestions were drawn. The initial characteristic test results for COD, BOD, TSS, ammonia, pH and temperature parameters were 944 mg/L; 344 mg/L; 1400 mg/L; 1 mg/L; 2.9; 39oC. The concentration of tofu liquid waste received by genjer plants at the Range Finding Test (RFT) stage is 20% for vertical and horizontal subsurface flow variations. Concentration and removal efficiency of COD and NH3 vertical variations of SSF; with and without NPK fertilizer was 152 mg/L and 136 mg/L; 80.6% and 83.4%; 13 mg/L and 15 mg/L; 0% and 0%. Concentration and removal efficiency of COD and NH3 horizontal variations of SSF; with and without NPK fertilizer was 280 mg/L and 136 mg/L; 58.5% and 84.7%; 11.46 mg/L and 13.15 mg/L; 0% and 0%. pH value, temperature, plant height, horizontal variations of SSF; with and without NPK fertilizer is 6.5 and 6.8; 28.4oC and 28.4oC; 32 cm and 25 cm. pH value, temperature, plant height, vertical variation of SSF; with and without NPK fertilizer is 7 and 7.1; 28.1 oC and 27.7 oC; 32 cm and 25 cm
