Abstract

The Groundwater Basin of Pasuruan is a groundwater basin located at East Java which has an area of 1,596 km with an estimated potential unconfined aquifer of 628 million m3/year and 43 million m3/year of confined aquifer. PT Mitra Alam Segar is one of bottled beverage companies located in the Pasuruan groundwater basin area and has a high demand for water as the main resource for business. Therefore, this exploration uses the latest method to map aquifer’s potential, called as Automatic Audio-Frequency Magnetotelluric System (ADMT). (ADMT) applies the principle of magnetoteluric data acquisition with results sub-surface relative resistivity distribution. The ADMT acquisition conducted at PT. Mitra Alam Segar measures as many as 3 lines with penetration of 300 meters underground. There are also secondary data consist of well log and 2D resistivity measurement data which located on the same line as ADMT acquisition line in order to improve the geological interpretation of ADMT measurement. The results showed that potential aquifers for each line were obtained in lateral positions 70-90 m at depth of 0 m to -30 m below mean sea level for line 1, lateral positions 2-22 m at depth of -5 m to -8 m and -112 m to -141 m below mean sea level for line 2, and lateral positions 16 m to 25 m at depth of -78 m to -90 m below mean sea level for line 3. The aquifer identification process uses electrical stratigraphy of the model. The potential aquifer in the study area is brackish aquifer.
