Abstract
Pembangunan smelter baru milik PT. Freeport Indonesia yaitu Manyar Smelter Plant berfungsi sebagai tempat pengelohan konsentrat tembaga. Smelter tersebut memiliki satu area bangunan khusus untuk menyuplai air dalam proses pengolahan tersebut yang dinamakan Manyar Smelter Desalination Plant yang berlokasi di Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate (JIIPE), Jalan Raya Manyar, Kecamatan Manyar, Gresik, Jawa Timur. Pada area proyek tersebut akan dilakukan pekerjaan galian dan pekerjaan fondasi untuk bangunan Storm Water Pond. Area ini terletak di area sempit yang beredekatan dengan pekerjaan lainnya diantaranya pekerjaan pemancangan di sebelah barat (area Pipe Rack & Cable Tray) dan akses jalan dump truck di sebelah timur. Oleh sebab itu, pekerjaan galian yang direncanakan harus dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan perkuatan galian yang tidak memerlukan pemancangan dan pembongkaran yaitu dinding diafragma. Selain itu, tiang tarik di bawah fondasi tikar harus didesain sedemikian rupa sehingga tidak diperlukan pemotongan fondasi tiang dan fondasi tiang yang direncanakan harus mampu menahan beban uplift (terutama pada saat kolam kondisi kosong) mengingat muka air tanah cukup tinggi. Hasil perencanaan dinding kolam Storm Water Pond pada Manyar Smelter Desalination Plant menggunakan dinding diafragma dengan panjang 20 meter dengan ketebalan dinding 1 meter. Selain itu, pada dinding dipasang dua buah angkur jenis prestress strand 15 mm setiap jarak 1.5 meter yaitu pada elevasi -2.000 meter dan elevasi -4.000 dari elevasi +0.000 yaitu pada tanah dasar dengan sudut kemiringan angkur 30° dengan diameter grouting panjang bebas (free length) 0.15 meter dan diameter panjang terjepit (fix length) 0.5 meter. Untuk dasar kolam digunakan fondasi rakit dengan dimensi 50 meter x 16 meter memiliki tebal 0.5 meter. Fondasi tersebut ditambahkan tiang pancang tarik berdiameter 600 mm, kedalaman 34 meter, dan berjumlah 44 tiang. Adapun alternatif lain untuk perencanaan dasar fondasi dengan fondasi pelat praktis dengan sistem drainase dan geomembran dengan sistem drainase. Alternatif tersebut dapat dilaksanakan apabila kolam dalam kondisi kosong tidak terlalu lama.

The construction of PT Freeport Indonesia's new smelter, Manyar Smelter Plant, functions as a copper concentrate processing plant. The smelter has a special building area to supply water in the processing process called Manyar Smelter Desalination Plant located at Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate (JIIPE), Jalan Raya Manyar, Manyar District, Gresik, East Java. In the project area, excavation work and foundation work will be carried out for the Storm Water Pond building. This area is located in a narrow area adjacent to other work including piling work to the west (Pipe Rack & Cable Tray area) and dump truck access roads to the east. Therefore, the planned excavation work must be carried out using excavation reinforcement that does not require piling and demolition, namely diaphragm walls. In addition, the pile foundation under the mat foundation must be designed in such a way that no cutting of the pile foundation is required and the planned pile foundation must be able to withstand uplift loads (especially when the pond is empty) considering that the groundwater level is quite high. The planning results of the Storm Water Pond wall at Manyar Smelter Desalination Plant use a diaphragm wall with a length of 20 meters with a wall thickness of 1 meter. In addition, two 15 mm prestress strand type anchors are installed on the wall every 1.5 meters, which are at elevation -2.000 meters and elevation -4.000 from elevation +0.000 on the subgrade with an anchor inclination angle of 30 ° with a grouting diameter of 0.15 meters free length and 0.5 meters fixed length diameter. For the bottom of the pond, a raft foundation with dimensions of 50 meters x 16 meters and a thickness of 0.5 meters was used. The foundation is added with 600 mm diameter tensile piles, 34 meters in depth, and 44 piles. There are other alternatives for planning the foundation base with a practical plate foundation with a drainage system and geomembrane with a drainage system. This alternative can be implemented if the pond is not empty for too long.
