Abstract

As an archipelagic nation, Indonesia grapples with substantial logistical challenges in orchestrating transportation and ensuring port accessibility, particularly at the pivotal Berlian Container Terminal serving as a vital inter-island hub. This study centers on scrutinizing the conditions of the container yard at this terminal, crucial for Indonesia's overall sustainability. Employing the ARIMA method alongside IBM SPSS, the analysis of the yard occupancy ratio at the Diamond Container Terminal paints a picture of its future trajectory. Findings reveal that the terminal has surpassed the permissible density limit outlined by the transportation department, reaching 80% against the sanctioned 70%. Consequently, this research recommends an expansion of the stacking area by 9800 TEUs to guarantee the seamless functioning of the terminal in 10 years ahead. The implications of these discoveries can significantly contribute to the planning of port infrastructure development, empowering relevant stakeholders to make decisions that foster the growth of logistics and enhance inter-island connectivity.
