Abstract

In an electric power system, the balance between generating capacity and the power required to supply the load is one of the parameters for operating stability. The stability of a power system will always change as a result of changes in load and power availability. Electricity generation in a power system often faces unavoidable disturbances such as PLN blackouts. The inability of a generator to provide power is usually marked by a decrease in frequency with the worst possibility being a power outage in the system. Even though the system is designed for the highest possible reliability, unavoidable failures may occur during the generation process, such as the occurrence of a PLN outage at PT. Sasa Inti Plant Gending, which caused the generator to be overloaded. The occurrence of an overload on the generator causes an imbalance between the mechanical power produced by the generator and the electrical power consumed by the load, resulting in a slowdown of the generator rotation. Therefore, through this final project an analysis of transient stability due to PLN outages at PT. Sasa Inti Plant Gending, as well as a frequency return scheme when unwanted interference occurs by preparing a load shedding mechanism for the electrical system, so that it is expected to provide standard recommendations for proper load shedding mechanisms with minimum load shedding in accordance with standards in order to quickly restore and protect the system and ensure the stability of the electrical system at PT. Sasa Inti Plant Gending can be maintained.
