Abstract

The main principle of steam power plant is to convert chemical energy in fuel into electricity. The conversion process requires major components, such as boilers, turbines and generators. The boiler is a component that functions to heat water so that it changes its phase to the vapor phase. The steam produced by the boiler is dry steam with high pressure and temperature (superheated steam). One of the main parts of the boiler is the superheater. The superheater converts wet steam (saturated steam) into dry steam (superheated steam). Wet steam can cause erosion of the turbine blades so that the wet steam must be heated again to become dry steam which reaches a temperature of 541℃.. In order to keep the temperature of the steam entering the turbine constant, the boiler operator must maintain the quality of the steam produced by the superheater. Spray temperature functions to control the temperature of the steam in the superheater to maintain quality. The controller used in the superheater spray control valve is a PI controller. The author wants to design an intelligent control system using Neuro-PID. The simulation was carried out using simulink in the Matlab software. The simulation was carried out by comparing the response of the plants before and after the controller was installed.
