Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang startup sekaligus platform pelaporan sekolah kepada orang tua/wali murid. Potensi besar pasar bisnis pendidikan di Indonesia mendorong munculnya ide perancangan startup ini. Menggunakan pendekatan design thinking, penelitian ini tidak hanya merancang solusi digital, tetapi juga merinci aspek bisnisnya. Ada lima tahapan dalam design thinking, yaitu empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Tahap empathize melibatkan teknik observasi dan wawancara untuk memahami perspektif pengguna. Selanjutnya pada tahap define, inti permasalahan pengguna dirumuskan melalui teknik Point of View dan dianalisis menggunakan SWOT serta analisis kompetitor untuk merumuskan solusi dan memanfaatkan peluang. Pada tahap ideate, ide-ide dikumpulkan melalui brainstorming dan penyusunan Business Model Canvas. Kemudian pada tahap prototype dilakukan perancangan UI/UX dan model bisnis. Terakhir, uji coba platform dilakukan pada sebuah sekolah guna menguji kesesuaian dengan kebutuhan pengguna dan mendapatkan umpan balik. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa fitur utama yang paling diharapkan adalah pelaporan presensi, pembayaran, dan pengelolaan pengumuman. Selain itu, agar diterima oleh pengguna, suatu startup platform manajemen pelaporan sekolah diharapkan memiliki beberapa kriteria, yaitu sederhana dan mudah digunakan, murah, otomatis, real-time, dan muncul notifikasi. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan design thinking dengan seluruh tahapannya dalam merancang suatu startup platform manajemen pelaporan sekolah terbukti telah mendapat penerimaan positif oleh pengguna, baik dari sisi solusi teknologi maupun model bisnisnya.

This research aims to design a startup that creates a platform of school-to-parent reports. A huge market size of the education business in Indonesia has inspired the idea of this startup. Employing a design thinking approach, this research not only designs digital solutions, but also its business models. The design thinking process comprises five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The empathize stage involves observational techniques and interviews to understand user perspectives (school administrators and parents). In the define stage, user problems are formulated using Point of View (POV) techniques and analyzed through SWOT and competitor analyses to formulate solutions and exploit opportunities. The ideate stage collects ideas through brainstorming sessions and creating a Business Model Canvas. In prototyping, UI/UX compositions are visualized while business models are sketched out. Lastly, platform testing is conducted in a school to analyze the compatibility with user needs and also obtain feedback to perfect the design before scaling product up. The research results show that the most expected main features are attendance reporting, payments reporting, and school announcement management. In addition, for user acceptance, a startup of school reporting platform is expected to have several criteria: simplicity and user friendly, affordability, automation, real-time functionality, and notification capability. The test results affirm that the design thinking approach has proven to be positively accepted by users in designing a startup of school reporting platform, both in terms of technological solutions and business models.
