Abstract

Perlindungan keselamatan tenaga kerja di pembangkit listrik berbahan bakar batubara masih belum memenuhi ekspektasi karena terus terjadi kecelakaan kerja yang berakibat pada korban jiwa. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai perilaku keselamatan dalam operasional pembangkit listrik tenaga uap berbahan bakar batubara di Sumatera, Indonesia, seiring dengan tingginya kejadian kecelakaan kerja. Meskipun peraturan keselamatan dan praktik manajemen sudah ada, kecelakaan masih sering terjadi. Kepentingan untuk mencapai target produksi seringkali menyebabkan perilaku yang tidak aman, seperti kelalaian dalam penggunaan peralatan keselamatan yang berakibat pada terjadinya kecelakaan kerja. Penelitian ini merujuk kepada beberapa penelitian terdahulu yang mengungkapkan bahwa sebagian besar kecelakaan kerja disebabkan oleh perilaku tidak aman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh safety leadership, work pressure, safety culture, dan safety behavior secara simultan yang dilakukan di sebuah pembangkit listrik di Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu pembangkit listrik tenaga uap berbahan bakar batu bara di Sumatera Selatan menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 102 responden. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) berbasis Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa work pressure berpengaruh terhadap safety culture dan safety behavior, safety leadership berpengaruh terhadap safety culture tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap safety behavior, dan safety culture memediasi hubungan antara safety leadership dan work pressure terhadap safety behavior. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi bahan masukan bagi perusahaan untuk meningkatkan safety behavior, dengan menekankan pentingnya membangun safety culture yang kuat dan safety leadership yang efektif agar dapat mencegah terjadinya kecelakaan kerja

Worker safety protection in coal-fired power plants still does not meet expectations because work accidents continue to occur which result in fatalities. This research discusses safety behavior in the operation of coal-fired steam power plants in Sumatra, Indonesia, along with the high incidence of work accidents. Even though safety regulations and management practices are in place, accidents still occur frequently. The need to achieve production targets often leads to unsafe behavior, such as negligence in the use of safety equipment which results in work accidents. This research refers to several previous studies which revealed that the majority of work accidents were caused by unsafe behavior. This research aims to examine the influence of safety leadership, work pressure, safety culture and safety behavior simultaneously at a power plant in South Sumatra. The research was conducted at a coal-fired steam power plant in South Sumatra using a questionnaire distributed to 102 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method based on Partial Least Square (PLS). The research results show that work pressure influences safety culture and safety behavior, safety leadership influences safety culture but does not influence safety behavior, and safety culture mediates the relationship between safety leadership and work pressure on safety behavior. The implications of the results of this research can be input for companies to improve safety behavior, by emphasizing the importance of building a strong safety culture and effective safety leadership in order to prevent work accidents
