Abstract

Kelor atau Moringa oleifera merupakan tanaman yang tersebar luas di wilayah Tersebut tropis atau subtropis. Tanaman ini biasanya tumbuh liar dan mampu tumbuh cepat. Bagian daun kelornya dapat dikonsumsi maupun menjadi obat-obatan. Proses pengolahan daun kelor ada 3 tahap yaitu pengeringan, pemasakkan dan ekstraksi. Untuk pengeringan perlu di perhatikan detail karena pengeringan daun kelor diperlukan temperatur yang rendah supaya nilai nuttrisi tidak hilang. Pengeringan dapat menggunakan pengeringan vacuum dryer temperatur 70°C tetapi suhu 70°C terlalu tinggi untuk makanan sehingga dapat merusak nilai gizi. Karena itu diperlakukan penelitian pengeringan menggunakan metode gabungan Heat Pump Dryer dan Swirling Fluidized Bed. Eksperimen ini dilakukan menggunakan alat pengering sistem Heat Pump Dryer yang dikombinasikan dengan Swirling Fluidized Bed dan divariasikan temperatur pengeringannya sebesar 40°C, 45°C, 50°C dan variasi sudut blade 10° dan 20°. Eksperimen ini dilakukan menggunakan sampel seberat 200 gram dan dikeringkan selama interval 30 menit. Lalu pada alat pengering tersebut, diukur dan dicatat kelembaban relatifnya (Rh), Temperatur Outlet, Temperatur inlet, dan massanya. Hasil eksperimen menunjukan bahwa temperatur 50°C dan sudut blade 20° memiliki karakteristik pengeringan yang terbaik dibandingkan variasi yang lain dalam hal efisiensi, laju pengeringan dan waktu pengeringannya. Supaya daun kelor memiliki kadar air kurang dari 8%, waktu pengeringan tercepat diperlukan sekitar 450 menit dengan nilai efisiensi 4,16%. Sedangkan waktu pengeringan terlama mencapai 510 menit pada variasi temperatur 40°C dan sudut blade 10° dengan nilai efisiensi 6%. Nilai efisiensi pengeringan mengalami kenaikan seiring dengan kenaikan kecepatan inlet udara pengeringan dan kenaikan temperatur udara pengering. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh laju pengeringan yang semakin naik seiring kenaikan temperatur pengeringan dan besarnya sudut blade

Moringa or Moringa oleifera is a plant that is widespread in tropical or subtropical regions. This plant usually grows wild and is able to grow quickly. Moringa leaves can be consumed or used as medicine. The process of processing Moringa leaves has 3 stages, namely drying, cooking and extraction. For drying, you need to pay attention to detail because drying Moringa leaves requires a low temperature so that the nutritional value is not lost. Drying can use a vacuum dryer at a temperature of 70°C, but the temperature of 70°C is too high for food so it can damage the nutritional value. Therefore, drying research was carried out using a combined method of Heat Pump Dryer and Swirling Fluidized Bed. This experiment was carried out using a Heat Pump Dryer system combined with a Swirling Fluidized Bed and varying the drying temperature by 40°C, 45°C, 50°C and varying blade angles of 10° and 20°. This experiment was carried out using samples weighing 200 grams and dried for 30 minute intervals. Then in the dryer, the relative humidity (Rh), outlet temperature, inlet temperature and mass are measured and recorded. Experimental results show that a temperature of 50°C and a blade angle of 20° have the best drying characteristics compared to other variations in terms of efficiency, drying rate and drying time. So that Moringa leaves have a water content of less than 8%, the fastest drying time is around 450 minutes with an efficiency value of 4.16%. Meanwhile, the longest drying time reached 510 minutes at a temperature variation of 40°C and a blade angle of 10° with an efficiency value of 6%. The drying efficiency value increases along with the increase in the drying air inlet speed and the drying air temperature. This is influenced by the drying rate which increases with increasing drying temperature and the blade angle
