Abstract
Transportasi memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam menghubungkan suatu daerah dengan daerah lain. Dengan adanya sistem dan moda transportasi yang memadai dapat mempermudah alur perdagangan dan mobilitas penduduk sehingga dapat meningkatkan perekonomian suatu negara. Kereta api sendiri merupakan salah satu moda transportasi darat yang bersifat massal dan dinilai lebih efektif daripada moda transportasi darat yang lain. Keefektifan kereta sebagai moda transportasi yang efisien dapat dilihat dari beberapa aspek yaitu, kapasitas angkut penumpang yang relatif banyak, bebas dari kemacetan, dan waktu tempuh yang relatif cepat.
Dalam rangka pengembangan jaringan kereta api di luar Pulau Jawa, salah satunya di Pulau Sulawesi, pemerintah memiliki sasaran pengembangan dimana pengembangan yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk menghubungkan wilayah atau kota yang mempunyai potensi angkutan penumpang dan barang atau produk komoditas berskala besar. Akan tetapi dalam proses pengembangan jalur kereta api di Pulau Sulawesi terdapat suatu rute di wilayah Sulawesi Utara yang dirasa kurang efektif terhadap rute angkutan penumpang yang berasal dari Kota Manado ke Kota Bitung atau sebaliknya. Hal ini disebabkan oleh jalur tempuh antara kedua kota tersebut yang terlalu panjang sehingga waktu tempuh rute angkutan penumpang menjadi lebih lama. Oleh karena itu pada Tugas Akhir dilakukan perancangan jalur kereta api alternatif yang menghubungkan Kota Manado dengan Kota Bitung dengan rute yang mendekati Bandara Sam Ratulangi dan Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus Bitung. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan jalan rel ini adalah dengan data sekunder, selanjutnya dilakukan penentuan geometrik jalan rel berupa alinyemen horizontal dan vertikal, perencanaan konstruksi jalan rel dan gambar rencana yang mengacu pada peraturan yang terkait desain geometrik dan konstruksi jalan rel. Beberapa program bantu yang digunakan dalam melakukan perancangan jalan rel ini yaitu, Google Earth, Global Mapper, dan AutoCAD Civil 3D. Hasil dari perancangan geometrik dan konstruksi jalur kereta api antara Manado-Bitung berupa panjang jalur 48,376 km dengan kecepatan rencana 60-120 km/jam. Desain lengkung horizontal menggunakan jenis S-C-S dengan total 41 tikungan dan desain lengkung vertikal dengan total 32 lengkung. Konstruksi jalur kereta api menggunakan jalur ganda kelas jalan rel I dengan lebar jalur 1.435 mm dan didesain menggunakan rel tipe R60. Bantalan yang digunakan yaitu bantalan beton elastis ganda tipe penambat E-clip dengan jarak antar bantalan sebesar 60 cm. Tebal lapisan balas direncanakan sebesar 30 cm dan sub-balas sebesar 15 cm.

Transportation has very important role in connecting one region to another. With the existence of an adequate system and mode of transportation can facilitate the flow of trade and population mobility so that it can improve the economy of a country. Train is one of the modes of mass land transportation and is considered to be more effective than other modes of land transportation. The effectiveness of the train as an efficient mode of transportation can be seen from several aspects, large passenger carrying capacity, free from traffic jams, and the relatively fast travel time. In the context of developing rail network outside Java Island, one of which is on the Sulawesi island, the government has a development target where the development carried out aims to connect regions or cities that have the potential for large scale transportation of passengers and commodity products. However, in the process of developing a railroad line on Sulawesi Island, there is a route in the North Sulawesi region that is felt less effective for passenger transport routes from Manado City to Bitung or otherwise. This is caused by the travel route between the two cities which is too long, so that the travel time for passenger transport routes becomes longer. Therefore, in this Final Project, an alternative railway line designed that connects Manado City with Bitung City with a route that also approaches Sam Ratulangi Airport and Bitung Special Economic Zone. The method used in the design of this railroad is with secondary data, then the geometry of the railroad is determined in the form of horizontal and vertical alignments, railroad construction design and plans that refer to regulations related to geometric design and construction of railroads. Some of the assist programs used in designing railroad are Google Earth, Global Mapper, and AutoCAD Civil 3D. The results of the geometric design and construction of the railway between Manado-Bitung are a track length of 48,376 km with a design speed of 60-120 km/hour. The horizontal curved design uses the S-C-S type with a total of 41 curves and the vertical curved design with a total of 32 curves. The construction of the railway line uses double track class I railroad with a track width of 1,435 mm and is designed using type R60 rail. The pads used are double elastic concrete pads of the E-clip anchor type with a distance between the pads of 60 cm. The thickness of the ballast layer is planned to be 30 cm and the sub-ballast 15 cm.
