Abstract

The rapid expansion observed in the construction industry is a direct result of its significant contribution to a country's overall development. An outcome of this development approach is the utilisation of building information modelling, commonly referred to as BIM, for Quantity take-off purposes. By employing Building Information Modelling (BIM) in a project, it is widely acknowledged that the construction implementation process can be enhanced in terms of accuracy and efficiency. The research was conducted using two distinct methodologies. One approach is to use the traditional calculation method. The second approach involves utilising the quantity takeoff volume calculation method within the Autodesk Revit BIM software. The process of building modelling in BIM involves utilising Autodesk Revit to create a detailed representation of the building's structure. The outcome of this modelling process is the measurement of the volume for each individual structural component. Following that, conducting the productivity and time calculations, inputing the data into Navisworks for BIM 4D, and determine the cost and budget plan for implementation. Lastly, an S-curve was created to plan out the duration of the construction activities, the effectiveness and efficiency of two methods will be compared in terms of time and cost. The final project calculation shows a difference of approximately 0.417% when comparing the utilisation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and conventional methods for reinforcement steel. Additionally, there was a distinction of 4.793% in the concrete volume and 3.708% in the formwork volume. Regarding duration and cost, there are notable disparities between the results obtained from the BIM and conventional calculation methods. These discrepancies arise due to variations in volume between the two methods. More specifically, there is a 2-day difference, or a 1.242% variation in time, and a difference of Rp818,684,623.15, or 3.235% of the total budget implementation costs.
