Abstract

Pendidikan Vokasi diciptakan berdasarkan suatu konsep ketenagakerjaan yang mengarah pada pelaksanaan pembangunan khususnya melalui industrialisasi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, saya sebagai mahasiswa Teknik Mesin Industri ITS memilih PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) atau juga disebut PT Penataran Angkatan Laut Indonesia (Persero) sebagai tempat pelaksanaan kerja praktik atau magang industri dengan pertimbangan PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) memiliki kualitas manajemen operasional yang baik sehingga dapat memberikan saya lebih banyak pengetahuan yang sesuai dengan bidang teknik mesin, terutama teknologi rekayasa konversi energi. propeller yang berfungsi sebagai alat gerak. Sebelum lebih lanjut membahasa mengenai jenis propeller yang diamati selama magang berlangsung, berikut merupakan nomenklatur dasar propeller. Selama observasi ditemukan bahwa mayoritas jenis propeller yang digunakan pada kapal yang menggunakan jasa pemeliharaan dan perbaikan di PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) yakni Fixed Pitch Propeller (FPP) dan Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP). Perbaikan propeller dengan tahapan pembersihan permukaan propeller, pembongkaran/reassembly propeller, NDT (Non Destructive Test) pada permukaan propeller, penambahan material propeller dengan pengelasan, balancing propeller, instalasi propeller dan uji coba laut. Pada laporan ini saya menganalisa kavitasi yang terjadi pada propeller KM Kelimutu. Dengan hasil bahwa inspeksi yang telah dilakukan pada propeller KM Kelimutu menunjukkan kategori operasional propeller dengan kecepatan dibawah propeler konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil analisis proses perawatan dan perbaikan pada propeller KM KELIMUTU. Didapatkan jenis kerusakan yang terjadi yakni edge damage to damage yang disebabkan oleh daun propeller mengalami kavitasi dan benturan fisik dengan benda keras. Kerusakan lain yakni erotion damage atau erosi yang menimbulkan adanya vibrasi pada sistem propulsi kapal.

In this report I analyze the cavitation that occurs on the propeller of KM Kelimutu. With the result that the inspection that has been carried out on the KM Kelimutu propeller shows the operational category of the propeller with speeds below conventional propellers. Based on the results of the analysis of the maintenance and repair process on the KM KELIMUTU propeller. The type of damage that occurs is edge damage to damage caused by the leaves of the propeller experiencing cavitation and bent. propeller leaves experiencing cavitation and physical impact with hard objects. Other damage is erosion damage or erosion which causes vibrations in the ship's propulsion system.
