Abstract

Tesis ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan operasi transportasi dengan menerapkan prinsip-prinsip Lean, termasuk identifying value, mapping the value stream, creating flow, establishing pull, and striving for perfection.

Company XYZ specializes in the transportation of packages and documents, facilitating their journey from customers to their final destinations. Throughout this process, various internal and external obstacles impact the speed and efficiency of package delivery, measured by On-Time Performance. Currently, the On-Time Performance stands below the industry standard target of 90%, adversely affecting the
company's reputation and service quality.
To address these challenges, a research initiative utilizing the LEAN theory approach is proposed for optimizing the transportation process. This thesis aims to enhance transportation operations by applying Lean principles, including identifying value, mapping the value stream, creating flow, establishing pull, and striving for
perfection. The research employs observation, interviews, and data analysis within a qualitative framework to identify transportation process issues and enhance operational effectiveness. The analysis, utilizing fish bone diagrams, leads to the creation of a Future Value Stream Mapping, serving as a reference for internal stakeholders within the company and offering recommendations for both internal
improvements and academic discourse. The overarching goal of this research is to attain a 90% On-Time Performance level, ensuring a positive impact on the company's image and service quality.
