Abstract

Some Commodities are very easily rotted or damaged due to the presence of microorganisms. Some Commodities are very easily rotted or damaged due to the presence of microorganisms which can accelerate spoilage if special treatment is not carried out, such as cooling at low temperatures. This commodity is included in a chain called the cold chain, namely the supply chain for goods that are easily damaged and it needs protection from exposure to inappropriate temperatures to keep it frozen, cool and maintain its freshness. To maintain quality, a good refrigeration system is used, which is able to maintain temperature stability. Thermal performance of Multi-Storage temperature with a hybrid refrigeration system using PCM. This hybrid method with PCM is possible reducing electricity consumption in cooling systems that are more economical than conventional systems. The results of the simulation carried out by the multi-storage model with a guide under the evaporator as in the multi-storage hybrid PCM model is better for air distribution, so that there is no air circulation in the evaporator room and air comes out from the top, where the top of the evaporator should be useful for where hot air is sucked in by the evaporator. The distribution of cold air is also good, because the cold air inside can reach its lowest temperature point, namely -30˚C in the freezer and in the chiller it reaches -5˚C, the heat from outside also has no effect because it is absorbed by the polyurethane insulation layer. There is an additional PCM in the compartment too
helps in resisting the rise in temperature inside both compartments
