Abstract
Pengendalian kualitas kertas CMP menggunakan Max-Half MChart pada Tahap I menunjukkan adanya tiga observasi out of control yang mengidentifikasi adanya pergeseran rata-rata proses.

Corrugated Medium Paper (CMP), known as flute cardboard, is one of the raw materials used in the production of corrugated cardboard which is commonly used in the packaging industry. XYZ Inc. is one of the leading packaging paper producers in Indonesia with a combined installed production capacity of more than 1.5 million tons per year. Competition in the packaging industry is quite tight, causing XYZ Inc. to continuously maintain and improve the quality of its products. One of the steps taken by XYZ Inc. to maintain the quality of the paper produced is by monitoring physical properties in the form of grammature, ring crush, concora, moisture, and Cobb tests through a quality control laboratory before the paper is packaged and marketed. Because there is more than one quality characteristic of CMP paper and each quality characteristic is monitored once in each shift, the control chart used is a multivariate control chart for individual observations. The control chart used to monitor the quality of flute cartons is the Max-Half-MChart multivariate simultaneous control chart. The use of the Max-Half-MChart control chart is based on the consideration that observations are individual, there is more than one quality characteristic, and they are correlated. In addition, the Max-Half-MChart can monitor targets and variability together, making it more efficient. CMP paper quality control using the Max-Half MChart in Phase I shows that there are three out of control observations that identify shifts in the average process. In Phase II shows that the Max-Half-MChart is statistically controlled. The cause of the observation of CMP paper out of control at XYZ Inc. is due to differences in raw material sources, meaning that raw materials have different characteristics, causing the machine to be unstable in maximizing production results. The results of measuring the capability of the CMP paper production process at XYZ Inc. in a multivariate manner obtained a value of MCpk of 2.53, which means that the overall CMP paper production results are in accordance with company regulations, so the process is capable.
