Abstract

PT Lotte Chemical Titan Nusantara merupakan perusahaan investasi Penanaman Modal Asing (PMA) yang memproduksi polyethylene terbesar di Indonesia dengan kapasitas 450.000 ton/ tahun. Saat ini terdapat tiga plant yang memproduksi polyethylene, yaitu Plant I dan Plant II yang memproduksi polyethylene jenis HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) dengan kapasitas masing-masing 125.000 ton/tahun dan Plant III yang memproduksi polyethylene jenis LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) yang berkapasitas 200.000 ton/tahun. Bahan baku utama PT Lotte Chemical Titan Nusantara adalah ethylene sementara itu bahan penunjang yang digunakan adalah 1-butena, hidrogen, nitrogen, katalis, co-katalis, zat aditif dan solvent. Proses pembuatan polyethylene terdiri dari tahap aktivasi katalis, prepolimerisasi, polimerisasi, unit degassing system, pemberian additive dan pelletizing, serta pengepakan. Pada train 2 tahap polimerisasi menghasilkan powder polimer yang masih mengandung hidrokarbon, katalis maupun co-catalyst, sehingga harus dipisahkan dalam proses degassing unit dan menjadi powder polimer yang siap untuk dijadikan pellet. Powder polimer kemudian ditambahkan additive dan dilelehkan pada suhu 150-240⁰C dalam extruder agar mudah untuk dibentuk menjadi pellet. Polyethylene yang sudah berbentuk pellet dipak 25 kg tiap kemasan dan siap dipasarkan. Unit utilitas bertugas memenuhi kebutuhan air, listrik, steam, udara tekan, dan bahan bakar sebagai penunjang proses produksi. Pengolahan limbah limbah cair dilakukan proses pengolahan secara biologi dan fisikakimia, limbah gas akan dibakar di flare, sedangkan untuk limbah padat berupa non-B3 akan dibakar di incinerator dan yang berupa B3 akan dikirim ke pihak ketiga.

Currently there are three plants that produce polyethylene, namely Plant I and Plant II which produce HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) type polyethylene with a capacity of 125,000 tons/year each and Plant III which produces LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) type polyethylene with a capacity of 200,000 tons/year. The main raw material for PT Lotte Chemical Titan Nusantara is ethylene, while the supporting materials used are 1-butene, hydrogen, nitrogen, catalyst, co-catalyst, additives and solvent. The polyethylene manufacturing process consists of catalyst activation, prepolymerization, polymerization, degassing system unit, additive and pelletizing, and packaging. In train 2, the polymerization stage produces polymer powder which still contains hydrocarbons, catalysts and co-catalysts, so it must be separated in the degassing unit process and becomes polymer powder which is ready to be made into pellets. The polymer powder is then added with additives and melted at a temperature of 150-240⁰C in an extruder so that it is easy to form into pellets. Polyethylene which is in pellet form is packaged in 25 kg per package and is ready to be marketed. The utility unit is tasked with meeting the needs for water, electricity, steam, compressed air and fuel to support the production process. Liquid waste processing is carried out through biological and physicochemical processing processes, gas waste will be burned in flares, while non-B3 solid waste will be burned in incinerators and B3 will be sent to third parties.
