Abstract

The fisheries sub-sector is one of the sub-sectors that play a role in the national economy with a positive trend record. This positive trend is not only in the results of aquaculture and capture fisheries but has been accompanied by an increase in the export performance of the fishery sub-sector. Global demand for fishery products is increasing, including Indonesian fisheries, which is one of the world's largest exporters of fishery products. However, the two main commodities of Indonesian fishery exports, namely tuna-Euthynnus affinis-skipjack tuna, and shrimp are not yet known how their competitiveness and position in the East Asian market which is the main destination for Indonesian fisheries exports, so the purpose of this study is to analyze the opportunities, challenges, competitiveness along with their position, and the factors that affect the export of Indonesian fish products (tuna-Euthynnus affinis-skipjack tuna) and shrimp in 5 East Asian countries (Japan, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan). Competitiveness analysis using Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) and Export Product Dynamic (EPD) methods. The gravity model method with panel data regression was used in this study to obtain results in the form of factors that affect Indonesia's exports in East Asia 5 is competitive. The competitiveness position of Japan and Hong Kong is in the falling star position, China is in the lost opportunity position, and South Korea and Taiwan are in the retreat position. The factors that influence the value of exports are the real GDP of the export destination country and the distance of economic development.
