Abstract

Household waste, especially waste from bathrooms, namely liquid bath soap waste, is waste that is generated a lot by people in both urban and rural communities. This waste contains quite high levels of COD and will harm the water bodies receiving the waste. Therefore, it is necessary to have a treatment for this waste. This removal efficiency research uses a batch system with a variety of waste, namely "L" brand liquid bath soap (3ml/30L; 5ml/30L; 7ml/30L) and "L" shampoo (Qty/30L; 3ml/30L; 5ml/30L) plus "L" liquid bath soap (5ml/30L) and variations in coagulant dosage (0.25gr/L; 0.5gr/L; 1 gr/L; 2gr!L; 4gr/L; 8gr/L), while the jloculant dosage follows coagulant dosage based on the optimum combination sought in preliminary research. The optimum coagu/an-jloculant combination is 1: 0.003125. From the research results, for the variation of liquid bath soap waste (0.1ml/L) the COD removal efficiency was 76.480% and surfactant was 80.34%. In liquid bath soap waste (0.167ml/L) the COD removal efficiency was 85.00% and surfactant 76.67%. In liquid bath soap waste (0.233ml/L) the COD removal efficiency was 85.67% and surfactant 61.83%. Meanwhile, in the waste mixture of liquid bath soap (0.1 67 mLIL) and shampoo (0.033 ml/L) the COD removal efficiency was 90.93% and surfactant was 51.19%. In the waste variation of liquid bath soap (0.167ml/L) and shampoo (0.1ml/L), COD removal efficiency was 75.81% and surfactant was 51.97%. And in variations of liquid bath soap waste (0.1 67ml/L) and shampoo (0.167ml/L) COD removal efficiency was 73.33% and surfactant 76.17%
