Abstract

The coastal protection structures most often used to dampen oncoming waves and reduce their energy are breakwaters. The breakwater building is usually made of piles of stone, concrete, or steel according to the type of building. The structure of toe protection must be planned as well as possible to prevent the failure of the breakwater structure. In this study, an analysis of the stability of the protection structure of the toe breakwater was carried out using a tetrapod armor unit. Testing was carried out using physical model experiments in the laboratory with four variations in the height of the toe protection structure, four variations in wave height (H), and three variations in water level elevation. The results of the study for the height of the toe protection structure of 0.15 m is the most unstable toe protection structure. While the height of the most stable protection structure of the toe is 0.07 m. At the height of the toe protection structure of 0.15 m there was a damage (Nod) of 0,55 at the highest wave height of 15.6 cm. Meanwhile, at the height of the toe protection structure of 0.07 m and 0.11 m with the same wave height of 15.6 cm, there was the highest damage (Nod) of 0,15 and 0,29.
