Abstract

Harmonics are wave distortions produced by non-linear loads on an electrical distribution system. Non-linear loads are sourced from the converter, and static loads. Harmonics will be analyzed in 2 distribution systems, namely AC and DC. It is divided into 4 conditions, namely, at port, leaving arriving, loading unloading, and sailing. The analysis was carried out with the aim of knowing the effect of harmonics on reconfiguring the AC distribution system to DC. The analysis was carried out using simulator electrical distribution software. The largest harmonic values are generated in the condition of the AC distribution system at port in DB L 6 which is 3.75%. The DC distribution system produces the greatest harmonic values in the conditions at loading unloading conditions of the 1st Floor Bus with a value of 13.90% THD. In reconfiguring the AC distribution system to DC, the harmonics in the DC distribution system increase. Some DC busbar distribution systems do not the standards issued by BKI rules vol. IV part 1 second. 4 section 11.1 regulate that the total harmonic distortion (THD) cannot be more than 8%. So we need a harmonic filter to reduce wave distortion. After installing the harmonic filter, the results all of bus not under 8%.
