Abstract

Kemasan obat memiliki peran yang sangat krusial dalam melindungi isi produk serta memastikan integritas dan kualitas produk tetap terjaga. Dalam konteks ini, penelitian mengenai pengembangan kemasan obat berbasis kertas yang memiliki performa mekanik yang optimal, anti mikroba serta ketahanan terhadap kelembapan semakin diutamakan. Berbagai bahan alternatif dan pendekatan inovatif perlu dieksplorasi untuk mengatasi tantangan ini salah satunya dengan penggunaan biopolimer sebagai bahan pelapis untuk kemasan berbasis kertas untuk meningkatkan sifat penghalangnya. Kertas yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Machine Glazed 70 gsm sebagai dasar pelapisan. Film multilayer dengan SPI sebagai lapisan pertama pada kertas berpengaruh dalam aktivitas penghalang gas dan minyak. Lapisan kedua PLA/ nano kitosan oligosakarida menunjukkan sifat antimikroba, sifat penghalang air dan dapat meningkatkan sifat mekanik matriks pada material. Dalam penelitian ini, film lapisan multilayer dibuat dengan 0,6 gram bubuk SPI. Kemudian pelapisan kedua, Nano kitosan oligosakarida crab sebanyak 0,5 gram, 1 gram dan 1,5 gram. Selanjutnya, PLA 3 gram dan ditambahkan. Setelah sampel kering dilakukan pengujian grease resistance, tensile strength, FTIR, Pengujian AFM, pengukuran contact angle, Antibakteri, thermal diffusivity, permeabillity. Pengaruh tipe nano kitosan oligosakarida pada pelapisan kemasan obat terhadap struktur molekul, nanoCOS dengan berat molekul rendah memiliki aktivitas antimikroba intraseluler dan ekstraseluler, sehingga mempengaruhi fungsi mitokondria, sintesis protein, dan RNA. Selain itu, nanoCOS dengan berat molekul rendah juga dapat meningkatkan sifat kekakuan kertas karena ikatan hidrogen antar molekul. NanoCOS juga telah menarik minat dalam bidang pengemasan dengan memadukan dengan biopolimer lainnya untuk meningkatkan properties yang sesuai dengan pengemasan aplikasi obat. Pengaruh rasio nanoCOS pada hasil coating terhadap performa mekanik menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kandungan nanoCOS menyebabkan peningkatan ketebalan kertas. Pengaruh lapisan biopolimer pada hasil coating terhadap peforma mekanik, kekuatan didapatkan karena adanya proses kristalisasi, pengikatan silang, atau polimerisasi, yang meningkatkan kepadatan lapisan dan ketebalannya.

Pharmaceutical packaging plays a crucial role in protecting the contents of the product and ensuring that the integrity and quality of the product is maintained. In this context, research into the development of paper-based drug packaging that has optimal mechanical performance, anti-microbial and moisture resistance is increasingly being prioritized. Various alternative materials and innovative approaches need to be explored to overcome these challenges, one of which is the use of biopolymers as coating materials for paper-based packaging to improve its barrier properties. The paper used in this study is Machine Glazed 70 gsm as the base for the coating. The multilayer film with SPI as the first layer on the paper affects the gas and oil barrier activity. The second layer of PLA/ nano chitosan oligosaccharide shows antimicrobial properties, water barrier properties and can improve the mechanical properties of the matrix in the material. In this study, a multilayer coating film was prepared with 0.6 grams of SPI powder. Then the second coating, Nano chitosan oligosaccharide crab as much as 0.5 grams, 1 gram and 1.5 grams. Furthermore, 3 grams of PLA and added. After the sample dried, grease resistance, tensile strength, FTIR, AFM testing, contact angle measurement, antibacterial, thermal diffusivity, permeabillity were tested. The effect of chitosan oligosaccharide nano-type on drug packaging coating on molecular structure, low molecular weight nanoCOS has intracellular and extracellular antimicrobial activity, thus affecting mitochondrial function, protein synthesis, and RNA. In addition, low molecular weight nanoCOS can also improve the stiffness properties of paper due to hydrogen bonding between molecules. NanoCOS has also attracted interest in the field of packaging by combining with other biopolymers to improve properties suitable for drug application packaging. The effect of nanoCOS ratio in the coating on mechanical performance showed that increasing nanoCOS content led to an increase in paper thickness. The effect of biopolymer coating on mechanical performance, strength is obtained due to crystallization, crosslinking, or polymerization processes, which increase the coating density and thickness.
