Abstract

The architectural space designed to be used as an Farming space in the building is a response to food security which is getting smaller in value. This food security is caused by the increase in population every year so that it requires land and invades agricultural land to non-agriculture. In this case, it is getting narrower, exacerbated by the weather and climate that often occurs due to Global Warming.
Many developments in the agricultural sector have been carried out, such as Vertical Farming with aquaponic or hydroponic systems. This system is familiar in the world of agriculture and has mushroomed in various countries including Indonesia. So, in this case the Farming system can be adapted in buildings to the climate in Indonesia. Architecture as a way to accommodate farming must be able to integrate agriculture with other spatial functions in buildings. In this case farming and architecture synergize with each other and form Agricultural Architecture.
The Farming Architecture approach was initiated to accommodate the agricultural system that will be implemented as an effort to build agriculture in cities on a scale. This considers the function of the land to be taken as a design to maintain its potential. In this case, central Surabaya is the target in the middle of the city village area which will be used as a corp house with an Farming Architecture approach.
