Abstract

Indonesia has an abundant potential for solar energy, however, the utilization of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) is still very low. One effort to develop PLTS is by utilizing water surfaces such as lakes and reservoirs through the Floating Photovoltaic (FPV) system. This final project analyzes the mooring system of floating photovoltaics that will be installed in Cirata Reservoir, West Java. The mooring line strength of the floating PV is analyzed under Ultimate Limit State (ULS) and Accidental Limit State (ALS) conditions to determine the appropriate mooring system configuration. The research begins with modeling the multi-body floating PV structure and two mooring system configurations, crossed catenary mooring and buoyancy catenary mooring. Hydrodynamic analysis is performed under free-floating conditions to determine the motion response behavior of the floating PV. Furthermore, dynamic analysis is performed under ULS and ALS conditions with variations in the reservoir water level elevation to obtain tension and offset values. The research results show the maximum translational Response Amplitude Operator (RAO) values of surge 0.968 m/m, sway 0.982 m/m, and heave 1.001 m/m, as well as rotational RAO values of roll 22.029 deg/m, pitch 9.719 deg/m, and yaw 4.008 deg/m. Under ULS conditions, the largest tension occurs at 90° heading when the elevation is 115m, which is 29.06 kN for buoyancy catenary and 66.85 kN for crossed catenary. Meanwhile, under ALS conditions with one-line damage, the largest tension still meets the criteria with values of 45.66 kN for the buoyancy catenary and 102.64 kN for the crossed catenary. Both configurations experience an increase in offset under ALS conditions, with the largest values at 90° heading when the elevation is 85m, which are 21.57 m for buoyancy catenary and 21.32 m for crossed catenary.
