Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of rollers and stingers in S-lay pipeline installations to enhance operational efficiency and safety. The S-lay method is widely used in the marine industry for laying pipelines on the seabed, and the roles of rollers and stingers are crucial in supporting this process. The study includes an analysis of optimal roller and stinger designs to address challenges encountered during S-lay pipeline installation, such as managing pipe loads, minimizing friction, and ensuring pipe integrity throughout the laying process. Numerical simulations are employed to validate the performance of rollers and stingers under various operational conditions. The results of this research provide deep insights into the effects of design variables on system performance, as well as solutions to improve the efficiency and reliability of pipeline installation. Optimized roller and stinger applications are expected to reduce operational failure risks, increase installation speed, and optimize resource utilization. This study makes a significant contribution to understanding effective design principles for rollers and stingers in the context of S-lay pipeline installations, paving the way for technological advancements in the marine and oil and gas industries.
