Abstract

Laporan ini menjelaskan tentang proses alignment shaft pada service pump menggunakan dial indicator di Water Treatment Plant Blok 2, PT. PLN Indonesia Power Grati POMU. Tujuan dari magang ini adalah untuk mempelajari penerapan teori dan keterampilan yang diperoleh selama perkuliahan dalam lingkungan industri nyata, khususnya di bidang Teknik Mesin. Proses alignment dilakukan untuk memastikan kesejajaran antara shaft dan komponen pompa lainnya, yang bertujuan mengurangi getaran dan keausan, serta meningkatkan efisiensi operasional pompa.Metodologi yang digunakan meliputi survei lapangan, studi literatur, pengambilan data, dan analisis data. Hasil dari proses alignment menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan dial indicator efektif dalam mencapai alignment yang tepat, dengan toleransi kesalahan yang sangat kecil. Selain itu, laporan ini juga membahas komponen utama service pump, sistem pemeliharaan, dan teknik-teknik alignment yang digunakan.Kesimpulan dari laporan ini adalah bahwa penerapan metode alignment menggunakan dial indicator dapat meningkatkan kinerja dan umur operasional service pump. Saran yang diberikan meliputi peningkatan pelatihan untuk teknisi terkait teknik alignment dan pemeliharaan rutin yang lebih terjadwal untuk mencegah kerusakan dini pada pompa.

This report describes the shaft alignment process on a service pump using a dial indicator at Water Treatment Plant Block 2, PT. PLN Indonesia Power Grati POMU. The purpose of this internship was to study the application of theories and skills acquired during the coursework in a real industrial environment, particularly in the field of Mechanical Engineering. The alignment process was conducted to ensure proper alignment between the shaft and other pump components, aiming to reduce vibration and wear, as well as to enhance the operational efficiency of the pump. The methodology employed included field surveys, literature review, data collection, and data analysis. The results of the alignment process indicated that using a dial indicator is effective in achieving precise alignment, with very minimal error tolerance. Additionally, this report discusses the main components of the service pump, maintenance systems, and alignment techniques utilized. The conclusion of this report is that the implementation of the alignment method using a dial indicator can improve the performance and operational lifespan of the service pump. Recommendations include enhancing training for technicians on alignment techniques and scheduling more routine maintenance to prevent early pump damage.
