Abstract

In the Vessel Cargo Docking project, effective scheduling is essential to ensure smooth project execution. This final project compares the scheduling results between the Critical Path Method (CPM) and Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM). The Root Square Error Method (RSEM) is used to determine the buffer size. Scheduling analysis is conducted manually and using Primavera P6 software to validate calculations of total float, critical path, and project network. The project scheduling using CPM requires 28 days to complete. With the CCPM method, the project can be completed in 21 days plus a 3-day buffer, resulting in a total scheduling duration of 24 days. From this analysis, it can be concluded that the CPM method produces a longer duration estimate compared to CCPM with buffer sizing using RSEM. Consequently the labor cost with the CPM method is higher, amounting to Rp 96.110.000.00, compared to Rp 85.267.500.00 with the CCPM method. In the CCPM method there is a reduction in safety time duration, necessitating an evaluation of success probability using the PERT method. The evaluation results show a success probability of 95.73% for scheduling with the CCPM method.
