Abstract
Virtual Production merupakan metode produksi film dengan menggabungkan aset digital dan aset nyata. Salah satu aspek penting dalam virtual production adalah karakter digital atau avatar. Dalam virtual production, metode remote production dapat digunakan untuk mendukung jalannya virtual production. Kendala yang dialami dengan menggunakan virtual production adalah masalah jaringan yang dialami oleh aktor untuk menggerakan avatar ketika produksi film. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dengan menciptakan avatar dengan ekspresi wajah yang realistis dalam bentuk aset digital dengan menggunakan Metahuman Unreal Engine 5. Metodologi meliputi pengumpulan data, desain dan pembuatan avatar metahuman, integrasi ekspresi ke dalam avatar, pengujian, dokumentasi dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan ekspresi avatar dapat dibuat dalam bentuk aset digital yang bervariatif dan memiliki response time yang cepat. Penelitian ini dapat memberikan solusi untuk meminimalisir masalah koneksi dalam virtual production.

Virtual Production is a method of film production by combining digital and real assets. One of the important aspects in virtual production is the digital character or avatar. In virtual production, the remote production method can be used to support the virtual production. The obstacle experienced by using virtual production is the network problems experienced by actors to move the avatar during film production. This research aims to overcome this problem by creating avatars with realistic facial expressions in the form of digital assets using Unreal Engine 5 Metahuman. The methodology includes data collection, design and creation of metahuman avatars, integration of expressions into avatars, testing, documentation and evaluation. The research results obtained avatar expressions can be made in the form of digital assets that are varied and have a fast response time. This research can provide a solution to minimise connection problems in virtual production.
