Abstract

Kebakaran adalah salah satu bencana yang disebabkan oleh manusia dan juga sering terjadi terutama di kota besar di Indonesia. Namun, beberapa penelitian mengatakan masyarakat memiliki pengetahuan tinggi dan sudah siap dalam menghadapi kebakaran. Setelah diketahui, metode penelitian itu dari teori. Pemanfaatan teknologi virtual reality (VR) dapat melibatkan tidak hanya teori, tapi juga praktik dalam menghadapi bahaya. VR memiliki potensi sebagai alat untuk menguji pengetahuan dan perilaku manusia dalam menghadapi situasi darurat kebakaran. Maka, dirancang EVASTER (Evacuation of Disaster), media untuk mengidentifikasi perilaku dan menguji pengetahuan manusia dalam evakuasi kebakaran. Dirancang dengan empat skenario kebakaran berdasarkan penyebabnya. Ditemukan semua partisipan salah dalam memilih APAR untuk, meskipun lima partisipan berhasil pada percobaan kedua. Diuji dengan One-Way ANOVA dan Kruskal-Wallis menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan signifikan waktu penyelesaian skenario serta skor di tiap lokasi. Hal ini menunjukkan kurangnya pengetahuan partisipan dalam memilih APAR yang tepat. Uji Kruskal-Wallis pada skor skenario menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan di median antara skenario. Berdasarkan peta perilakunya, partisipan lebih memilih untuk menyelesaikan tugas secepat mungkin dan mengambil APAR terdekat. Partisipan juga tidak mengalami gejala ketidaknyamanan yang signifikan saat menggunakan VR.

Fire is one of the most common human-caused disasters, especially in big cities in Indonesia. However, some studies say people have high knowledge and are prepared in dealing with fires. Once known, the research method was from theory. Utilisation of virtual reality (VR) technology can involve not only theory, but also practice in dealing with hazards. VR has the potential as a tool to test human knowledge and behaviour in dealing with fire emergency situations. Thus, EVASTER (Evacuation of Disaster) was designed, a medium to identify behaviour and test human knowledge in fire evacuation. It was designed with four fire scenarios based on their causes. It was found that all participants were wrong in choosing the fire extinguisher, although five participants were successful in the second trial. Tested with One-Way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis showed no significant difference in scenario completion time and scores across locations. This indicates a lack of knowledge in selecting the correct fire extinguisher. The Kruskal-Wallis test on scenario scores showed a significant difference in the median between scenarios. Based on the behavioural map, participants preferred to complete the task as quickly as possible and take the nearest fire extinguisher. Participants also did not experience significant discomfort symptoms when using VR.
