Abstract

Pada dunia industri pencetakan plastik seringkali menggunakan proses blow moulding untuk membuat suatu produk jadi. Dalam proses tersebut dibutuhkan suatu cetakan yang bertujuan untuk membentuk produk dari bahan mentah menjadi barang jadi. Salah satu komponen yang dibutuhkan pada cetakan tersebut ialah lip cavity dimana komponen ini berfungsi untuk membentuk ulir pada produk tutup botol plastik. Pada proses tersebut diperlukan suatu proses perautan, salah satunya proses roughing yang dilakukan menggunakan bantuan mata pahat. Pada saat proses tersebut dilakukan pengujian keausan mata pahat menggunakan tujuh mata pahat yang berbeda. Berdasarkan hasil analisa pengujian tersebut didapatkan hasil bahwa Nilai keausan tertinggi didapat oleh pahat insert model G tipe WNMG dengan keausan tepi 2,237 mm, sedangkan nilai keausan terendah didapat oleh pahat insert model C tipe DNMG dengan keausan tepi 0,214 mm. Dari ketujuh sample pahat insert yang dilakukan pengujian, hanya 3 tipe yang masih terdapat pada batas kritis keasuan tepi yang diijinkan yakni tipe pahat insert model B tipe WNMG, model C tipe WNMG, dan model D tipe WNMG.

In the industrial world, plastic molding often uses the blow molding process to make a finished product. In this process, a mold is needed which aims to form products from raw materials into finished goods. One of the components needed in the mold is a lip cavity where this component functions to form threads in plastic bottle cap products. In this process, a linking process is needed, one of which is the roughing process carried out using the help of a chisel blade. During the process, tool blade wear testing was carried out using seven different tool blades. Based on the results of the test analysis, it was found that the highest wear value was obtained by the WNMG type G model insert tool with edge wear of 2.237 mm, while the lowest wear value was obtained by the DNMG type C model insert tool with edge wear of 0.214 mm. Of the seven insert tool samples tested, only 3 types are still at the critical limit of allowable edge wear, namely the insert tool type model B type WNMG, model C type WNMG, and model D type WNMG.
