Abstract

Kepulauan Riau is a province with an economy dominated by the processing industry. In the last five years, the processing industry has made the largest contribution to the economy of the Kepulauan Riau province. At the same time, the number of female workers working in the processing industry is the highest compared to other sectors. On the one hand, to be able to compete in the job market, such as in the processing industry, women's workforce is based on education. On the other hand, female workers consider wages to enter the job market. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between women's years of schooling, women's wages, the number of women working in the processing industry, and Gross Regional Domestic Product, both partially and simultaneously. This research uses statistical data and a quantitative descriptive approach data analysis methodology with panel data regression analysis (cross section) and time series. The results of this research show that years of schooling for women and women's wages are positively proportional and have a significant impact on the female labor force participation rate in the Kepulauan Riau, while the number of women working in the processing industry and GRDP are positively proportional and have an insignificant impact on the female labor force participation rate in Kepulauan Riau.
