Abstract

Pada pelaksanaanya hampir semua kegiatan di Perguruan Tinggi (PT) memiliki pedoman dasar sebagai acuan dalam membuat rencana pengembangan program, Rencana Kerja dan Anggaran Tahunan (RKAT). Selain itu, RKAT berfungsi sebagai acuan dalam menyelenggarakan kegiatan yang sesuai dengan tujuan PT. Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) menggunakan RKAT sebagai salah satu pertimbangan dalam menyelenggarakan kegiatannya, termasuk proses penerimaan mahasiswa baru. Proses penerimaan mahasiswa baru ini seharusnya sesuai dengan Key Performance Indicator (KPI) pada RKAT. ITS belum memiliki database yang saling terintegrasi terkait dengan penerimaan mahasiswa baru mandiri, umum serta data sekolah dan program studi yang masih berupa file excel. Pada hal lain rancangan dashboard yang dimiliki sekarang bersifat deskriptif hanya melaporkan jumlah penerimaan mahasiswa baru saja tanpa adanya kualitas pendaftar. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan membuat sebuah rancangan data warehouse dan dashboard untuk proses bisnis penerimaan mahasiswa baru di ITS yang dibuat menggunakan Power BI. Metode yang digunakan untuk pembuatan data warehouse pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Four Step Dimensional Design Modelling dari Kimball. Adapun beberapa tahapan pengerjaan tugas akhir ini adalah identifikasi legacy sistem, studi literatur, identifikasi kebutuhan, pembangunanan data warehouse, pembangunan sistem ETL, proses ETL, pembangunan dashboard, melakukan UAT, dan penyusunan buku tugas akhir. Hasil akhir dari tugas akhir ini adalah sebuah rancangan data warehouse dengan 9 tabel dimensi terdiri dari pendaftar, sekolah, program studi, waktu, nilai pendaftar, alasan diterima, jalur pendaftaran, prestasi, dan rapor, serta 1 tabel fakta. Hasil dari rancangan sistem ETL terdiri dari 2 file Visual Basic yang mewakili one time loading, dan incremental loading dimana setiap file terdiri dari 10 package yang berisi tranfomasi untuk setiap dimensi, tabel fakta dan 1 package yang digunakan untuk menjalankan package lainnya bersama secara berurut. Data yang tersimpan ke dalam datawarehouse akan dibuat visualisasi berupa dashboard pada Power BI. Dashboard terdiri dari berbagai komponen visualisasi sehingga dapat melihat dan mebantu melakukan analisis terhadap kuantitas dan kualitas dari pendaftar perguruan tinggi.

In its implementation, almost all activities in universities (PT) have basic guidelines as a reference in making program development plans, Annual Work and Budget Plans (RKAT). In addition, the RKAT functions as a reference in organizing activities in accordance with the objectives of the PT. Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) uses the RKAT as one of the considerations in organizing its activities, including the process of admitting new students. This new student admission process should be in accordance with the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) on the RKAT. ITS does not yet have an integrated database related to new independent, general student admissions as well as school and study program data which are still in the form of excel files. On the other hand, the current dashboard design is descriptive in nature, only reporting the number of new student admissions without the quality of the applicants. This research has the aim of creating a data warehouse and dashboard design for the new student admission business process at ITS which is created using Power BI. The method used to create a data warehouse in this study uses the Four Step Dimensional Design Modeling method from Kimball. The several stages of this final project are identification of legacy systems, literature studies, identification of needs, building data warehouses, building ETL systems, ETL processes, building dashboards, conducting UAT, and compiling final project books. The final result of this final project is a data warehouse design with 9 dimension tables consisting of applicants, schools, study programs, time, applicant scores, reasons for being accepted, registration paths, achievements, and report cards, and 1 fact table. The results of the ETL system design consist of 2 Visual Basic files that represent one time loading, and incremental loading where each file consists of 10 packages that contain transformations for each dimension, fact table and 1 package that is used to run other packages together in sequence. Data stored in the datawarehouse will be visualized in the form of a dashboard on Power BI. The dashboard consists of various visualization components so that it can see and help analyze the quantity and quality of college applicants.
