Abstract
Plan Smelter Nikel di Sulawesi selatan merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di industri pertambangan. Sistem kelistrikan pada perusahaan ini menggunakan tegangan 11kV untuk auxilliary grid dan 33kV untuk bagian furnace grid yang dihubungkan dengan menggunakan DC Link. Plan Smelter Nikel di Sulawesi Selatan mengoperasikan dua grid secara bersamaan. Hal ini mengurangi fleksibilitas dan redundancy sistem. Keberadaan DC Link untuk mengirimkan daya dari Auxiallary ke Furnace grid tidak signifikan. Saat ini hanya 5% dari Fce load. Untuk mengamankan sistem kelistrikan dari gangguan yang terjadi, Plan Smelter Nikel di Sulawesi selatan menggunakan berbagai macam rele pengaman. Tetapi ketika terjadi gangguan pada beban utility sering menyebabkan Black Out. Sehingga perlunya evaluasi pada rele tersebut untuk menjaga keandalan dan selektivitas sistem proteksi tenaga listrik agar dapat mengamankan peralatan sistem kelistrikan dari gangguan yang menyebabkan kerusakan pada peralatan. Berdasarkan kejadian di lapangan, kinerja sistem proteksi pada Plan Smelter Nikel di Sulawesi selatan belum dapat dikatakan handal karena ketika terjadi gangguan pada sisi beban akan terjadi blackout. Hal ini terjadi karena urutan pembukaan Circuit Breaker (CB) belum sesuai dengan rele yang menyebabkan Circuit Breaker (CB) pada sisi beban (bagian bawah) tidak membuka atau Trip sehingga Circuit Breaker (CB) pada bagian atas membuka lebih cepat yang menyebabkan Black Out. Dalam tugas akhir ini, dilakukan analisis menyeluruh terhadap kinerja sistem proteksi, khususnya pada koordinasi relay arus lebih gangguan fasa dan relay diferensial. Analisis ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas dan efisiensi koordinasi sistem proteksi tersebut. Hasil dari evaluasi setting dan koordinasi proteksi arus lebih gangguan fasa serta relay diferensial diharapkan dapat memberikan rekomendasi yang signifikan bagi perusahaan dalam upaya meningkatkan keandalan dan ketepatan perlindungan sistem kelistrikan. Rekomendasi ini akan membantu perusahaan dalam mengoptimalkan perlindungan yang diperlukan untuk menjaga stabilitas dan keamanan operasional sistem kelistrikan yang handal pada Plan Smelter Nikel di Sulawesi selatan

The Nickel Smelter Plan in South Sulawesi is a company operating in the mining industry. The electrical system at this company uses a voltage of 11kV for the auxiliary grid and 33kV for the furnace grid section which is connected using a DC Link. The Nickel Smelter Plan in South Sulawesi operates two grids simultaneously. This reduces system flexibility and redundancy. The existence of a DC Link to transmit power from the Auxillary to the Furnace grid is not significant. Currently only 5% of Fce load. To protect the electrical system from disturbances, the Nickel Smelter Plan in South Sulawesi uses various types of safety relays. However, when there is a disturbance in the utility load, it often causes Black Out. So it is necessary to evaluate these relays to maintain the reliability and selectivity of the electrical power protection system in order to protect electrical system equipment from interference that causes damage to the equipment. Based on events in the field, the performance of the protection system at the Nickel Smelter Plan in South Sulawesi cannot be said to be reliable because when there is a disturbance on the load side a blackout will occur. This happens because the order of opening the Circuit Breaker (CB) does not match the relay which causes the Circuit Breaker (CB) on the load side (bottom) not to open or trip so that the Circuit Breaker (CB) on the top opens more quickly which causes Black Out. In this final project, a comprehensive analysis is carried out on the performance of the protection system, especially on the coordination of phase fault overcurrent relays and differential relays. This analysis aims to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of coordination of the protection system. The results of the evaluation of the settings and coordination of phase fault overcurrent protection and differential relays are expected to provide significant recommendations for companies in an effort to increase the reliability and accuracy of electrical system protection. These recommendations will assist the company in optimizing the protection needed to maintain the stability and operational security of the reliable electricity system at the Nickel Smelter Plan in South Sulawesi
