Abstract

Gudang merupakan salah satu komponen penting dari aktivitas rantai pasok yang berperan sebagai tempat penyimpanan dan penyangga aliran material di sepanjang rantai pasok serta kebutuhan pelanggan dalam jangka waktu yang terbatas. Adanya ketidakpastian pada supply dan demand pada gudang khususnya pada distribution center mengharuskan PT X sebagai perusahaan distribusi perlu melakukan continuous improvement pada proses operasional gudang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pengembangan model simulasi diskrit dengan menggunakan software Extendsim untuk penentuan jumlah material handling dengan mempertimbangkan tata letak gudang, jam operasional gudang, dan jumlah operator pada gudang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh jumlah pallet mover optimal sebesar 11 unit, dengan detail 6 unit digunakan untuk put away dan 5 unit untuk picking. Skenario ini mampu memproses dengan jumlah box terlayani pada put away sebesar 182,300 box, utilitas material handling untuk put away sebesar 95.5%, jumlah box terlayani pada order picking sebesar 161,186 box, dan utilitas material handling untuk order picking sebesar 92.2%.

Warehouse is an important component of the supply chain activity that serves as a place of storage and containment of the material flow along the chain as well as the needs of customers over a limited period. There is uncertainty about supply and demand in warehouses especially in distribution centers requiring PT X as a distribution company to carry out continuous improvement on warehousing operational processes. This research uses the development of a discrete simulation model using Extendsim software to determine the amount of material handling by considering the warehouse layout, warehouse operating hours, and the number of operators in the warehouse. Based on the research results, the optimal number of pallet movers is 11 units, with details of 6 units used for put away and 5 units for picking. This scenario is able to process with the number of boxes served in put away amounting to 182,300 boxes, material handling utility for put away amounting to 95.5%, the number of boxes served in order picking amounting to 161,186 boxes, and material handling utility for order picking amounting to 92.2%.
