Abstract

Laporan ini menyajikan hasil magang industri yang dilakukan di PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo oleh mahasiswa Departemen Teknik Mesin Industri ITS. Magang ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengalaman praktis dan wawasan langsung mengenai operasional industri, khususnya di bidang pemeliharaan dan perpindahan panas. Pada bab pendahuluan, dijelaskan latar belakang pentingnya magang industri untuk menjembatani kesenjangan antara teori di perkuliahan dan aplikasi praktis di dunia kerja. Mahasiswa diharapkan dapat mengembangkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan yang relevan dengan industri melalui program ini. Bab selanjutnya menggambarkan PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo, termasuk sejarah, struktur organisasi, visi dan misi, serta kegiatan produksi perusahaan. Perusahaan ini bergerak di bidang produksi berbagai jenis krimer dan produk susu, dengan beragam divisi yang saling mendukung operasionalnya. Hasil magang yang dibahas dalam laporan mencakup kegiatan pemeliharaan dan analisis perpindahan panas. Pemeliharaan yang dilakukan melibatkan berbagai jenis perawatan pada alat-alat produksi, dengan fokus pada heat exchanger. Jenis-jenis perpindahan panas seperti konveksi, konduksi, dan radiasi dijelaskan untuk memahami proses yang terjadi pada heat exchanger. Laporan ini juga membahas secara rinci mengenai Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger, termasuk spesifikasi, komponen utama, prinsip kerja, dan prosedur pemeliharaan yang diadopsi baik dari manual book maupun praktik di perusahaan. Bab penutup menyimpulkan bahwa magang ini memberikan manfaat besar bagi mahasiswa dalam memahami operasional industri dan aplikasi praktis dari teori yang dipelajari di bangku kuliah. Saran diberikan untuk peningkatan program magang di masa mendatang agar lebih sesuai dengan kebutuhan industri dan perkembangan teknologi.

This report presents the results of an industrial internship conducted at PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo by students of the Department of Industrial Mechanical Engineering ITS. This internship aims to provide practical experience and direct insight into industrial operations, especially in the field of maintenance and heat transfer. In the introductory chapter, the background of the importance of industrial internships is explained to bridge the gap between theory in lectures and practical applications in the world of work. Students are expected to develop industry-relevant skills and knowledge through this program. The next chapter describes PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo, including its history, organizational structure, vision and mission, and production activities. The company is engaged in the production of various types of creamer and dairy products, with various divisions that support each other's operations. The results of the internship discussed in the report include maintenance activities and heat transfer analysis. The maintenance carried out involves various types of maintenance on production equipment, with a focus on heat exchangers. Types of heat transfer such as convection, conduction, and radiation are explained to understand the processes that occur in heat exchangers. This report also discusses in detail the Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger, including specifications, main components, working principles, and maintenance procedures adopted from both the manual book and company practices. The concluding chapter concludes that this internship provides great benefits for students in understanding industrial operations and practical applications of the theories learned in college. Suggestions are given for the improvement of future internship programs to be more in line with industry needs and technological developments.
