Abstract

The problem that often arises after the installation process of Solar Power Plant (PLTS) is the success rate in maintaining the sustainability of PLTS operations. Some steps to maintain the sustainability of PLTS system operations are to carry out routine maintenance and monitoring of solar panels. Not only that, in ensuring the success of PLTS operations, it is necessary to know about the annual carbon emission reduction. Based on several existing reviews, in this Final Project, a PLC-based integration system is designed and implemented on a 3.5 kWp On-grid Roof-top Solar Power Plant. The integration system consists of monitoring and metering system of PLTS operation and preventive maintenance (PM) technology control as well as carbon emission mitigation calculation. The system is centered on an HMI as an interface that serves as a viewer of monitoring results and also controls preventive maintenance technology. The performance of the Preventive Maintenance Technology found that the system experienced frequent interruptions and stoppages during its operation. The main causes of the interruptions included the too steep tilt angle of the solar panel (33.1°) and the uneven surface of the parking lot roof-top. In monitoring the operation of PLTS, the PZEM-016 sensor successfully records data and metering, the difference between the power measured in the inverter and the highest PZEM-016 sensor is 241.7 Watts. The 3.5 KWp On-Grid PLTS successfully produces 2807.9 kWh or 2.807 MWh in the period August 2023 to April 2024 and the avoidance of Carbon emissions ranges from 0.28 to 2.76 tons CO2eq depending on the type of coal compared.
