Abstract

In Indonesia, especially Wirotaman Village in Malang Regency, earthquakes often occur due to its location at the confluence of three major tectonic plates: Eurasian Plate in the northwest, Australian Plate in the south, and Pacific Plate in the east. To overcome this problem, an earthquake detection system based on a multi-hop sensor network has been developed. The system uses MEMS accelerometer sensor technology to measure earth vibrations and multi-hop routing to improve detection coverage and efficiency. The effectiveness and performance of a multi-hop sensor network-based earthquake detection system in Wirotaman Village, Malang. The method used involves deploying a network of interconnected sensors (multi-hop) to detect earthquakes in real-time. Based on the research results, it was found that the system is capable of providing earthquake detection with fast and accurate response times. The system's reliability in detecting earthquakes as well as its ability to transmit information in a short period of time were also evaluated and rated favorably. In terms of testing based on the graph, it results that when there is a change in amplitude, it will affect the acceleration value, with the amplitude and acceleration values being directly proportional. So as to produce the error value and accuracy of axis X-1: 3.1455 and 96.8545; axis X-2: 3.6826 and 96.3174; axis X-3: 3.3365 and 96.6635; axis X-4: 4.6500 and 95.3500; axis X-5: 3.8026 and 96.1974. While the error value and accuracy of axis Y-1: 2.9141 and 97.0859; axis Y-2: 2.2711 and 97.7289; axis Y-3: 1.7805 and 98.2195; axis Y-4: 2.7002 and 97.2998; axis Y-5: 2.7445 and 97.2555.
