Abstract

Organic waste is a type of waste that is easily decomposed and has the potential to pollute the environment and disrupt public health. Organic waste management is necessary for the environment to be clean and public health can be maintained. This organic waste problem occurs in Danga market, Nagekeo regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Organic waste in Danga market is not well managed where the organic waste produced is still mixed with other types of waste and directly burned in landfill. The purpose of this planning is to design the appropriate brick technology in terms of size which includes dimensions, volume, number of air holes between the arrangement of bricks as the entry of oxygen, processing capacity and calculate the budget plan needed to make Brick technology in Danga market Nagekeo-East Nusa Tenggara.
The design of this openwork Brick is carried out in several stages of activity. First, data collection is done in the form of primary data and secondary data. Primary Data include measurement of generation, and composition of organic waste measured in the trash in Danga market Nagekeo East Nusa Tenggara. Measurement of organic waste generation and composition using SNI method-19-3964-1994 about the method of taking and measuring samples of urban waste generation and composition. While the secondary data obtained from literature studies. Second, designing the technology of openwork brick by calculating the dimensions, volume, number of air holes between the arrangement of bricks, and processing capacity. The design of Bata terawang technology was continued by drawing a technical design using Autocad applications and finally calculating the Bill of Quantity (BOQ) and the budget plan (RAB) needed to make Bata Terawang technology in the Danga market using the unit price of activities (HSPK) of East Nusa Tenggara province in 2019 and the unit price of activities based on Indonesian National Standards.
To process organic waste Danga market with an average volume of 0.206 m3 with a composting time of 30 days requires as many as 3 open bricks with the volume of each open brick is 1 m3 with dimensions of 1 x 1 x 1 meter. The processing capacity of organic waste using open brick is 53.45%, resulting in 0.88 m3 of fine compost from the total organic waste composted. The number of air holes in the open brick is designed as many as 242 air holes. Budget plan (RAB) to implement 6 pieces of brick technology in amounted to Rp32.551.000,00
