Abstract

In large and complex construction projects, BIM (Building Information Modeling) plays a crucial role in globalizing construction technology. It is hoped that by implementing BIM on the "X" Toll Road Project, errors can be minimized. The problem that arises in the field is that QTO calculations carried out using AutoCAD and assisted by Microsoft Excel in initial estimates are often less accurate, resulting in calculation errors during implementation. It is hoped that BIM can be a solution to this problem. Research was conducted with a case study to compare quantity take-off in toll road construction at Interchange "X" using BIM and conventional methods. Analysis data was obtained by carrying out conventional BIM and CAD based quantity take-off work. The research results show that there are differences in quantity take-off calculations between BIM and manual methods and conventional CAD. The percentage difference between conventional methods and BIM-based methods is 3.54% for earthworks, for bridge structures which include concrete, asphalt and steel structures, namely 2%, 3.8% and 3%. In the box underpass structure it is 2%, and in the interchange structure it is 1%. The duration of work for land, interchange structures, bridges and underpass boxes from the calculation of quantity take off using BIM is 52 days, 119 days, 125 days and 62 days, respectively. Meanwhile, using the conventional method, the duration of work for land, interchange structures, bridges and underpass boxes from the quantity take off calculation using BIM is 48 days, 120 days, 126 days and 62 days.
