Abstract

Banyak mahasiswa menghadapi kegagalan di perguruan tinggi karena cenderung memilih jurusan berdasarkan reputasi atau mengikuti pilihan teman-temannya. Selain itu, keputusan calon mahasiswa dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa pihak, seperti pendapat dari orang tua, atau figur yang diidolakan. Untuk menghindari kesalahan yang dapat berdampak pada hilangnya motivasi belajar, kendala akademik yang akhirnya mempengaruhi pencapaian hasil kelulusan, pemilihan jurusan dapat dilakukan berdasarkan bakat, minat, dan kepribadian calon mahasiswa.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan model yang diterapkan berdasarkan MBTI dan Rule-Based. MBTI digunakan untuk mengukur prefrensi kepribadian kemudian diolah menggunakan rule-based untuk mengidentifikasi kesesuaian antara tipe MBTI dan jurusan perkuliahan. Proses pengembangan aplikasi melibatkan beberapa tahap, dimulai dengan pengumpulan data dari sumber terbuka untuk mengumpulkan informasi yang dibutuhkan dalam membangun aplikasi. Tahap selanjutnya adalah pembentukan model rekomendasi, proses ini dmiulai dengan mengkategorikan pertanyaan berdasarkan indikator MBTI yang kemudian diproses menggunakan rule-based hingga menghasilkan tipe MBTI dan rekomendasi jurusan yang sesuai.
Model yang telah dibentuk dievaluasi menggunakan kuesioner dan black box testing untuk menguji fungsionalitas aplikasi pada 100 siswa/i Sekolah Menengah Atas. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa keakuratan aplikasi pemilihan jurusan perkuliahan berdasarkan MBTI dan Rule-Based dengan confusion matrix menghasilkan nilai sebesar 75%. Hal ini menunjukkan aplikasi efektif dalam memberikan rekomendasi yang akurat dan sesuai dengan karakteristik pribadi mahasiswa, sehingga dapat membantu mengurangi kebingungan dalam pemilihan jurusan dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar.

Many students face failure in college because they tend to choose majors based on reputation or following the choices of their friends. In addition, prospective students' decisions can be influenced by several parties, such as the opinions of parents, or idolized figures. To avoid mistakes that can result in loss of motivation to study, academic obstacles that ultimately affect the achievement of graduation results, the selection of majors can be done based on the talents, interests, and personalities of prospective students.
This study uses a model approach that is applied based on MBTI and rule-based. MBTI is used to measure personality preferences and is then processed using rule-based to identify the suitability between MBTI types and college majors. The application development process involves several stages, starting with collecting data from open sources to gather the information needed to build the application. The next stage is the formation of a recommendation model, this process begins by categorizing questions based on MBTI indicators which are then processed using rule-based to produce MBTI types and recommendations for appropriate majors.
The model that has been formed is evaluated using a questionnaire and black box testing to test the functionality of the application on 100 high school students. The results show that the accuracy of the application for selecting a college major based on MBTI and Rule-Based with a confusion matrix produces a value of 75%. This shows that the application is effective in providing accurate recommendations that are in accordance with the personal characteristics of students, so that it can help reduce confusion in choosing a major and increase learning motivation.
