Abstract
Centrifugal water cooled chiller digunakan untuk mendinginkan air demin yang berfungsi menjaga suhu pada tangki fermentor (OBGA), tangki seeding cooling, dan TC cooling. Kinerja alat penukar kalor pada mesin refrigerasi akan menurun seiring waktu dikarenakan penumpukan endapan (fouling) pada permukaan perpindahan panas, yang meningkatkan resistansi termal tambahan dan menyebabkan penurunan kinerja pada kondensor dan mengakibatkan penurunan kinerja pada sistem refrigerasi. Mengetahui peran kondensor sangat penting dalam satu siklus sistem refrigerasi, maka perlu dilakukan analisa pengaruh fouling terhadap laju perpindahan panas, effectiveness, dan kinerja sistem refrigerasi Chiller LS 6, Plant Teknik-Chiller, PT. Daesang Ingredients Indonesia. Penelitian ini membandingkan kinerja refrigerasi sebelum dan sesudah overhaul, serta menganalisis perpindahan panas pada sisi shell and tube kondensor menggunakan metode log mean temperature difference (LMTD) dan effectiveness (ε) - number of transfer units (NTU). Analisa perpindahan panas dan effectiveness digunakan untuk mengetahui kinerja kondensor pada sistem refrigerasi centrifugal water cooled chiller sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan overhaul. Dari hasil perhitungan, didapatkan sebelum overhaul nilai rata-rata coefficient of performance, laju perpindahan panas, dan effectiveness pada kondensor mengalami penurunan dengan nilai COP 7,99, laju perpindahan panas kondensor sebesar 1,682 MW, dan effectiveness sebesar 0,97999. Sedangkan sesudah overhaul nilai rata-rata coefficient of performance, laju perpindahan panas kondensor, dan effectiveness pada kondensor mengalami kenaikkan dengan nilai COP 9,58, laju perpindahan panas sebesar 2,016 MW, dan effectiveness sebesar 0,98390.

The centrifugal water cooled chiller is used to cool demineralized water, which helps maintain the temperature in the fermentor tanks (OBGA), seeding cooling tanks, and TC cooling. The performance of heat exchangers in refrigeration systems decreases over time due to the accumulation of deposits (fouling) on the heat transfer surfaces. This increases thermal resistance, leading to decreased performance of the condenser and the overall refrigeration system. Understanding the crucial role of the condenser in a refrigeration cycle, it is necessary to analyze the impact of fouling on heat transfer rates, effectiveness, and the performance of the LS 6 chiller system at Plant Teknik-Chiller, PT. Daesang Ingredients Indonesia. This study compares the refrigeration performance before and after overhaul, analyzing heat transfer on the shell and tube side of the condenser using the log mean temperature difference (LMTD) and effectiveness (ε) - number of transfer units (NTU) methods. Heat transfer and effectiveness analyses are used to determine the condenser performance of the centrifugal water cooled chiller system before and after the overhaul. The results show that before the overhaul, the average coefficient of performance, heat transfer rate, and effectiveness of the condenser decreased, with COP at 7.99, heat transfer rate at 1.682 MW, and effectiveness at 0.97999. After the overhaul, these values increased, with COP at 9.58, heat transfer rate at 2.016 MW, and effectiveness at 0.98390.
