Abstract
PT XYZ merupakan sebuah perusahan manufaktur yang memproduksi komponen penyusun Hard-Disk Drive (HDD) salah satunya berupa VCM yoke melalui proses stamping. Menurut evaluasi kuartal dari pelanngan asal Filipina, saat ini PT XYZ mengalami penilaian yang kurang maksimal terutama aspek kualitas produk. Berdasarkan internal data, model VCM TOA 313-U merupakan produk yang kerap mengalami komplen dari pelanggan dan memiliki persentase reject yang tinggi. Sehingga, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan nilai sigma sebelum dan setelah dilakukannya perbaikan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Six Sigma (DMAIC) dimana menurut kajian pustaka, metode ini dapat mengurangi jumlah produk cacat. Pada tahap define, kapabilitas proses pada aspek critical to quality (CTQ) dan proses bisnis akan diidentifikasi. Pada tahap measure, akan dihitung nilai cost of poor quality dan nilai sigma. Pada tahap analyze, akan dilakukan analisis akar permasalahan dengan metode Ishikawa dan rumusan perbaikan. Selanjutnya tahap improve merupakan implementasi rumusan perbaikan. Sehingga pada tahap control, akan dihitung ulang nilai kapabilitas proses, cost of poor quality, dan nilai sigma sebagai ukuran peningkatan kualitas. Dari tiga faktor CTQ berupa thickness, flatness, dan hole diameter, dapat diketahui bahwa thickness merupakan CTQ dengan nilai kapabilitas dibawah 1,33 yang mana berdasarkan analisis akar permasalahan dapat diketahui bahwa faktor bahan baku berpotensi menyebabkan tidak tercapainya kapabilitas proses karena adanya variansi thickness material yang tinggi. Perbaikan pada pemasok berupa diberlakukan kontrol terhadap variansi thickness dan double rolling prosess telah diimplementasikan. Sehingga nilai DPMO dan cost of poor quality dapat menurun serta nilai sigma yang meningkat. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Six Sigma (DMAIC) dapat mengurangi jumlah produk cacat.

According to quarterly evaluations from Philippines customers, currently PT XYZ is experiencing a low assessment value, especially in product quality aspects. Based on internal data, the VCM TOA 313-U model is a product that often experiences complaints from customers and has a high percentage of rejects. So, this research aims to analyze changes in sigma values before and after improvements are implemented. The method used in this research is Six Sigma (DMAIC) where according to a literature review, this method can reduce the number of defective products. At the define stage, process capabilities in critical to quality (CTQ) factor and business processes will be identified. At the measure stage, the cost of poor quality and sigma values will be calculated. At the analyze stage, a root cause analysis will be carried out using the Ishikawa method and formulation of improvements. The next stage of improvement is the implementation of the improvement formula. So that at the control stage, the process capability value, cost of poor quality, and sigma value will be recalculated as a measure of quality improvement. From the three CTQ factors which are thickness, flatness, and hole diameter, thickness factor is a CTQ with a capability value below 1.33, which based on root cause analysis can be concluded that the raw material factor has the potential to cause process capability to not be achieved due to variations in material thickness. Improvements to suppliers in the form of controlling thickness variances and double rolling processes have been implemented. So, the DPMO value and cost of poor quality can decrease and the sigma value increases. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Six Sigma method (DMAIC) can reduce the number of defective products.
