Abstract

Reclamation is an effort to increase the available space based on the increasing need for space nowadays. one of them that is being planned is reclamation in Tuminting Area, Manado City. This project is planned to be carried out by a local contractor appointed by the Manado City government. This area of 98.63 Ha is located between 2 important places that are one of the economic centers in Manado City; these places are Tumumpa Fish Auction Market and Manado Fish Port. The reclamation work has been planned using geotextile as the soil reinforcement. Based on SPT testing result, it was found that the existing soil in the study area is coarse sand and sand mixed with clam shell powder; the density of the soil is loose (N-SPT<15). This soil condition has liquefaction potential; therefore, the initial geotextile reinforcement is not enough if the liquefaction occurs in this area. To improve the soil carrying capacity in that area, the soil layer needs to be densified using vibro-flotation and soil reinforcement needs to be re-designed. In this final project, the densification and soil reinforcement using micro-piles to be designed to fulfill the stability needed. The results of the analysis and calculation showed that 18m of soil compaction using Vibro-Flotation with a spacing of 1.75 to overcome the potential for liquefaction; Anti-Slide Pile with a dimension of 0.80m with a length of 9-10m will be installed under the ground, totaling at least 20 Anti-Slide Piles/meter;and Shore-Protection using Armor Layer as protection of the reclamation area from waves and as a Counter-Weight for the embankment.
