Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility and improvements in the grounding system of the 70-kV transmission line of PLTMG Flores – GI Labuan Bajo based on the standard grounding of Kepdir PT. PLN (Persero) PDM/STT/10:2014 and IEEE Std 80-2013. The study is using quantitative data collection methods obtained through direct measurements within the scope of the 70-kV transmission line of PLTMG Flores – GI Labuan Bajo. The final analysis of this research was conducted using a comparative method. In this case, the grounding resistance values of each tower leg on the transmission line from PLTMG Flores to GI Labuan Bajo were compared with the existing mathematical calculation results. Measurements from 34 towers on the 70-kV transmission line of PLTMG Flores – GI Labuan Bajo show a feasibility percentage of 71,11%, with 28,89% being non-compliant as they exceed the standard limit of 5 Ω. The most effective improvement method to be applied is the counterpoise method because it has a better reduction in resistance value (72,15%) and is more economical compared to the electrode addition method (Rp 86.272.000,00). This study is expected to serve as a reference for future research and provide valuable information for managers and owners of transmission line assets in improving the performance of the grounding system.
